General Interests
Mormonism, literature and poetry, Charles Spurgeon's writings, Egyptology, sci-fi, good mysteries
Music
My favorites are three musical geniuses: Paul Simon, Keith Lancaster of Acappella, and Melissa Lancaster of Durant.
Books
The Bible. The Bible. The Bible. The Narrated Bible. The Greek New Testament. Oh yes, and Spurgeon, Yancey, Dillard, Buechner and Faulkner.
Movies/TV
Right now my favorite movie is The Lake House. Funny, because I generally don't watch romances nor chick flicks. Oh well. On TV I like medical forensics (true and fiction), Lost, Sarah Conner Chronicles. I really do not like reality TV, especially those shows which show conflicts, competition, or combativeness between people.

About Latayne C Scott
I'm the author of about a dozen books, and am represented by Janet Grant of Books & Such Literary Agency. Many are pretty controversial, but written from a Christian perspective. I also write magazine articles and poetry, and have won awards for my writing. You can see a more complete listing of my publications in the "about" section of www.latayne.com.

I have also won a national contest for humor, and had a radio play of my humor professionally produced and broadcast. Hm. I know I don't look funny, at least not ha-ha funny.

What's new -- the updated and revised version of The Mormon Mirage will be published in April by Zondervan. It not only has updated information but also a new section of completely new materials. Also, my first novel, The Latter-day Cipher, a literary suspense novel (also about Mormonism) will be published in April as well, by Moody Publishers.

Read an excerpt from my new literary suspense novel in the blog below, and let me know what you think. Would you want to read further?

The Coldest Bridegroom -- A Different Jesus   12/24/2008 - 10:57 AM
Most of the arguments asserting that the Jesus of Mormonism is not the Biblical Jesus have to do with where His past diverges from the Biblical record: a Mormon "prehistory" that is finite, beginning with his "birth" to one of God the Father's wives... (login or sign up to read more)
