BLACK CREEK is a bluegrass gospel group based in Benson, NC. It's members found their beginnings in 2000 with another group, and together, formed BLACK CREEK in 2004. Since that time, the Lord has opened many doors for them. They play a range of music from traditional hymns to a smoother bluegrass sound, selecting emotive lyrics that portray in detail what the Lord Jesus Christ has done in their lives and can do for others. There are some familiar tunes, and probably some you haven't heard. BLACK CREEK is sort of a family. Craig and Danny are brothers. Scott and Tracie are married. All four of them are brothers and sister in Christ and attend the same church. The name BLACK CREEK evolved from the members' common geography. They all live next door to one another on a tributary of BLACK CREEK, which is a topographical feature that defines the rural area they call "home." BLACK CREEK has played many different venues over the years, including Church Functions, such as revivals, homecomings, youth rallies, camp meetings, and missions events; Civic Clubs, such as Ruritan and Lions; Festivals, such as Acorn, Oaktoberfest, Sweet Potato, Painters Farm and Farmers Day; Music Halls, Theatres, and General Stores; and, Private Engagements, such as benefits, birthdays, fundraisers, dinners, and reunions; and even Fishers of Men fishing tournaments. BLACK CREEK has had the honor of playing at events with such great artists as Roby Huffman & the Bluegrass Cutups, Jeff & Sheri Easter, The Singing Perrys, and others, but the greatest honor of all is playing for the Lord Jesus Christ. BLACK CREEK strives to bring honor to God the Father, and effectively communicate the Gospel of Jesus Christ to those who don't know or fully understand it, through testimony and bluegrass gospel music. It is the desire of BLACK CREEK to see lost people understand the boundless grace and mercy of God, and receive Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.
