About The Capstone Quartet
"CAPSTONE"...A word that means the crowning achievement, the final event, a culmination, or?

The Highest Point!

The Capstone Quartet was formed in 1992 in Tuscaloosa, AL - home of The University of Alabama and its campus commonly referred to as "The Capstone". The group regularly appeared at the Fireman's Singing that was held annually there and drew thousands of fans from across the nation to what was then Memorial Coliseum. This is the location where The Kingsmen Quartet recorded their popular live album consisting of songs such as "Saints Will Rise". In fact, men like Eldridge Fox, who appeared that night with The Kingsmen, as well as many others through the years have been instrumental to this group's success by sharing their knowledge and encouraging it to persevere. Today, Capstone remains focused on singing praises to the "stone that the builders rejected" in as many places as possible. The Capstone Quartet consists of four individuals with an insatiable desire to reach the final effect, the highest point possible - THE CAPSTONE - in building Christ's kingdom on earth by sharing the Plan of Salvation through music and testimony.

Capstone has performed in an array of venues across the nation ranging from churches and auditoriums to town festivals and massive coliseums. Having received both national and international radio airplay and been blessed with charting success on The Singing News Top 80 and U.S. Gospel News charts, its sound is not new to the gospel music industry. The latest single, "Living In The Land of Promise", comes from the quartet's project entitled "Carry The Gospel" and was released through Lamp Music in 2007. This is another song marked by the group's unique style and sound. Among its many accomplishments, the quartet was surprised and honored when the late Alabama State Representative Allen Layson appeared at a concert to present each member of the group with honorary plaques from the State House of Representatives, who adopted Resolution HR490 extending highest commendations to The Capstone Quartet "upon its outstanding accomplishments and utmost desire to bring glory to God". The resolution was sponsored by Representative Layson, and it stated in part; "...whereas, continually striving to uplift our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ all across the nation, The Capstone Quartet has earned the admiration and respect of all those who know them and have been blessed by their music; now therefore be it resolved by the House of Representatives of The Legislature of Alabama, that The Capstone Quartet is recognized and honored for its outstanding accomplishments and utmost desire to bring glory to God".

The Capstone Quartet is strong in its commitment to carry the Gospel wherever the Lord may lead. The current edition of the group consists of Dale Taylor (tenor), Bob Sellers (lead), Danny Scott (baritone) and Joe Brown (bass). These four men have been together for four years and are collectively and individually committed to The Capstone Quartet ministry and share a common bond in trying to win lost souls to Christ. Capstone fans across the country agree that the quartet's sound is the best it's ever been and growing better with every appearance. Witnessing The Capstone Quartet live and in person is an exciting, uplifting and - most importantly - spirit-filled experience. This ministry is Christ-centered, and the individuals involved work hard to keep it as such, giving HIM all the honor and glory for their accomplishments.
