Loretta Williams Gurnell is a soul-stirring psalmist, speaker, lyricist and actor. Loretta has sung before political and Christian dignitaties such as State Representative Sylvester Turner at the Heart of Houston luncheon and Bishop Vashti Murphy McKenzie at the 47th National Convention of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. in Las Vegas, NV.
Starring in the role of Velma in the hit play, Crowns, Loretta received rave reviews in the Houston Chronicle and the Houston Press. In 2006, she was selected as runner-up for the Texas Gospel Announcer's Guild New Artist Showcase. Loretta has also been selected for the 2007 Inaugural edition of Who's Who in Black Houston as an outstanding entrepreneur along with Houston's finest such as Beyonce Knowles, Gerald B. Smith, Percy Cruezot-Frenchy's Chicken, Yolanda Adams, George Forman and a host of other prominent movers and shakers in the Houston Black community. Furthermore, Loretta was named 2007 Artist of the Year by the Houston Chapter of the Gospel Announcer's Guild.
