We are an exciting Christian magazine based in the virtual reality world of Second Life but we've crossed over to the physical world with our summer issue's first print, subscription based format!
ABOUT SECOND LIFE: Second Life is a 3 dimensional world where nearly 20 million people use "avatars" to interact, build communities, and create cities. Real life companies bring their corporate brands inworld, Second Life residents build businesses, and Universities from all over the world provide classes. Hundreds of libraries and organizations also are in Second Life and there is a thriving, real economy. People in Second Life are only limited by their imagination.
SECOND LIFE AND ADULT ACTIVITIES: The media has focused on the negative aspects of Second Life and indeed, sex and immoral activity is an issue. But, this kind of behavior is not restricted to virtual worlds alone.

Online dangers are rampant! Incredible as it may seem, the pornography industry tops the revenues of all the top technology companies combined!
VIRTUAL CHRISTIANS SPREAD THE GOSPEL IN SECOND LIFE: Wings of Hope is a designated not for profit organization within Second Life. Here, dedicated Christians plant virtual churches, offer church services for the homebound, offer encouragement and comfort through various ministries and introduce Jesus to the un-churched through mission work, events and publications such as Wings of Hope Magazine.
2008 PEW POLL: A recent Pew report declared, "unbelief is on the rise." We are dedicated to changing that.
WHY SECOND LIFE: Bringing the gospel into the virtual environment provides a wholesome alternative from the seedier sides of online activity. Many people reenact their real world abuse and immorality online. Others feel what they do online does not hurt themselves or others and the anonymity of an avatar or screen name provides a hard to resist opportunity to explore adult themed sites. Wings of Hope offers a safe haven and counseling to stop that damaging behavior.
SPREADING OUR MESSAGE BEYOND SECOND LIFE: Now, Wings of Hope Magazine is bringing their family friendly messages of hope and inspiration to the outside world through a new subscription based, print format beginning the summer of 2008!
The magazine is jam packed with human interest stories, testimonies, articles about church missions, praise reports and of course messsages of faith, hope, encouragement and so much more. Our Entertainment News section offers contemporary music interviews with well known names, as well as undiscovered artists to suit every taste and age. New for summer 2008 will be teen and college aged sections.
