2008 was a very difficult year for the Pro-Life Music Festival. Attendance was down significantly. 45 bands on 3 stages with only $5 adnission, and yet, only about 3,000 tickets were sold. The event wound up about $15,000 short of being able to pay the bills. That may not sound like a lot of money, but it's more than enough to keep this grass-roots event from being able to operate in 2009.
I've worked incredibly hard for 10 years, with no pay (and in fact, great personal financial stress), to make this important event possible. For whatever reason, not enough people have understood and supported this event's desire to be a loving and effective response to the tragedy of abortion.
There will not be a Pro-Life Music Festival in 2009.
If it is God's will, we may be able to operate again in 2010, but only if we see more people step up to suport this event by becoming sponsors, and by simply showing up to praise God, enjoy great Christian rock, and to take a loving stand against abortion.
Our need to make a difference for life is greater than ever before.
God help us all.
