WHAT IS WPHA?

WPHA is a future RADIO STATION to fill the airwaves of southern CT
and Long Island with CHRIST-CENTERED, "Inspo" MUSIC 24/7!

WPHA will be a part of WPHA MINISTRIES.

Our MISSION STATEMENT: Gal 6:9-10

GAL 6:9 "And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not."

GAL 6:10 "As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all [men], especially unto them who are of the household of faith."

About this PROFILE PICTURE:

My Mom painted this in oils nearly 20 years ago. It was "commissioned" by Yours Truly. I gave her a black & white digital sketch I made of Jesus at the controls of a radio station. (It was made on an old Mac!) Then I gave her a couple of photos of different radio stations. She used bits and pieces of each to make this wonderful painting, using my crude computer-generated sketch as a guide. :)

It presently hangs over the fireplace in my living room. :) One day, SOON!!!! It will hang in the lobby of WPHA!! \o/

The VISION of WPHA has been burning in my heart for over 21 years. This painting was the very first "tangible" thing related to it, and epitomizes my goal for the station... to give the listener the impression that it is JESUS, HIMSELF, Who is at the controls! \o/

Now, we have the JINGLE which is featured in the player at the top of this page. This is now the second TANGIBLE thing for WPHA! \o/ God is bringing pieces together one-by-one. When it is HIS TIME, it will all come together, and the LORD will be GLORIFIED through the ministry of WPHA! \o/

If you are an artist who performs those styles of music, and you wish to contact me about something on my page, my ministry, etc, then PLEASE USE SHOUTMAIL, and do NOT just send a "Friend Request"! Such a request will only be perceived by me as a "submittal", and will be rejected. A ShoutMail will not. :)

Why am I saying this? Because some folks have sent me "Friend Requests", intending to make contact. I don't know your intentions when you send me an unexplained "Friend Request"! A note to the guestbook or a ShoutMail would be MUCH better than a "Friend Request" out of the blue.

Please know that I am NOT criticizing YOU for the music He has called YOU to produce! Just understand that those music styles are NOT my ministry! They are someone else's. Thank you. :)

OK, I sent my check for the amount my WEB host charges me annually. (More than a dollar!)

What was "Morning Light"?

Morning Light went off the air on August 31'st, 2007. That was the day I was "downsized" from WFIF. It was a listener-supported ministry of New Life Christian Fellowship in Trumbull CT. Since it is now off-the-air, I decided to use this page to explain the vision of WPHA. I will keep this box here to define Morning Light, because eventually, it WILL return when WPHA goes on the air! The descriptions, below, of the MUSIC of Morning Light will also apply to the overall sound of WPHA! \o/

The format of the music was LIGHT Contemporary, Inspirational, Accoustic, and Praise & Worship. I describe it as "Energetic enough to wake you up, but not give you a headache." ;)

My philosophy has always been "shut up and play the music". ;) Seriously... the less talking I do, the more ministering the MUSIC can do. I'm just there to "tie things together" - to let listeners know who these wonderful people are who make these songs, and the titles thereof. The less *I* say, the more *HE* can say through the precious music made by these gifted folks! :)

The Lord did not give me a voice to sing... but to speak. I cannot carry a tune in a stainless steel bucket with a "tupperware" lid sealed onto it! ;)

I am blessed beyond words, though, to be able to "sing" through the recorded voices of those to whom God has given the GIFT of music! \o/

By prayerfully selecting the songs I would play each morning, they came together into themes where the message of each song builds upon the last, and leads into the next. The Holy Spirit has confirmed it time and again through the responses of His people that this is a special kind of ministry. The fact that He used this vessel (me) at all never ceases to amaze me! TO GOD BE ALL GLORY!!! \o/

Each day, the music followed a THEME. That is what made the Morning Light program unique, and it is also what will set WPHA apart from MOST other Christian stations on the dial! We won't just pick and play songs according to a "chart", they will be selected prayerfully so that the lyrics all weave together into a common "tapestry". It is like a "Sermon in Song". We will, of course, notice what music is "charting" on the INSPO listings, and work those songs into the THEMES as often as is appropriate. You will always hear a mix of the latest NEW music, combined with "Timeless Treasures" from the 1980's to today. My belief is that truly Christ-Centered music like this is TIMELESS. Those songs that blessed your heart years ago will still bless your heart today! That is why I am still willing to play so many of them on WPHA. :)

It is also really amazing just how many listeners contacted me, asking for information about those older songs! You see, people are getting Saved EVERY SINGLE DAY (HALLELUJAH!!!) and they are thus DISCOVERING this music FOR THE FIRST TIME!!! The songs may be "old" but to these dear folks, they are BRAND SPANKING NEW!

I think that many Record Companies are missing the mark by "burying" these older songs... they should still make them available for sale online, at the very least! THEY WOULD SELL! :)
