What if you had this burning passion and call to devote your life to something? Who could YOU be if you dedicated ALL YOU HAD for a few years to reaching that one goal? Imagine if you went out with a reckless passion and pursuit of chasing that one dream with disregard to comfort, security and what others said. Who could you be and where could you go? See, i have this theory….

i'm NEW to this whole music thing. i've only been playing music seriously for about 5 years. But i truly believe and have faith that you can be anyone you want to when LOTS and LOTS of hard work, is combined with help from ABOVE. For years, i have been up every night regularly: 3, 4, 5am- i have dedicated myself to study the fine craft of songwriting. And though i do have worries, why should i worry if i know that God gave me these songs? If He's for us, who can be against us?

Life has not always been smooth. Actually in my younger days, i had an eraser fetish, which caused me to steal ALL and ANY eraser within reach when i was 7 years old. Stealing erasers slowly turned into stealing from people, from retail stores, to stealing car parts and rims in surrounding cities. One late late night, i was arrested by the police, who caught me stealing while inside a parked car, along with my car of stolen car parts. More followed which placed me in even more trouble with the law. My bleak future at that point was held in the hands of God and the judge that was deciding how many years i should be locked up for. Fast forward in time, with a second chance to start my life over. Through those times, i am SO GLAD that i did not give up on life the many times i almost did.

Yes, if you haven't noticed - i am Chinese. Maybe the only other Chinese "recording artist" you've ever heard of is William Hung. Well, falling into the typical stereotype, i was an engineer also. But that engineer mindset carried into songwriting. Why do people like this song and not that one? Why does this melody hook so hard? And why is that hook as dead as dead as dead as can be?

After many years of late nights swimming in the realm of music, i finally mustered enough courage and faith to record some of those songs. The high paying job was put on hold-to pursue a dream. It was not an easy decision, as many around did not exactly nod with approval. However, i think i've found what i have been made for. All my years of savings would also be put into 6 months of recording Summer Day - my first record. i eventually found myself in the studio working with some AMAZING musicians. i cannot keep track of how much SWEAT, HEART, and TEARS went into this first CD. i know that none of it went to waste though, as the songs have somehow found their way to your ears.

And maybe this is what some call a GAMBLE. But hey, it might be a bigger gamble if you don't chase after your dreams with ALL YOU HAVE. Yes, working a steady job with security and padding in the bank was nice. However i was becoming more and more hollow... Maybe i miss the days when i was crazy and felt alive- when security, comfort, and opinions were not a concern.

So this is where i am- on this path that i have to travel. i have sought after many things in this world which don't satisfy, and now this is my attempt to capture the path i've been on and give something back in the form of music. God has brought me along this incredible journey, hooked me up with amazing musicians, and i am devoted to writing songs which will stir, move, and hopefully touch people.
