I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis over 30 years ago and it has affected me over the years by sometimes having to be in a wheelchair or to use a walker. I had a choice to make whether to be bitter or to allow God to use it to draw me closer to Him and to fulfill His purpose for my life. About 20 years ago I was exercising on my indoor bicycle and I was reading my bible and a book on Possibility Thinking and the idea popped into my head, "What if I created a character and called it P.T. short for Possibility Thinker and used this character to encourage, motivate, and inspire my fellow M.S. sufferers. That's how it started but now I know that all of us need to be encouraged. I have 4 different versions of P.T. one of which is a "cammy" P.T. which is the school mascot for an elementary school at Camp Pendleton Marine base here in California. It's so rewarding to hear the stories of how P.T. is helping the kids cope with the deployment of their parents. Each P.T. has interchangeable heart messages. I have about 40 to choose from on my website www.ptthinker.com. I have had the privilege of giving assemblies to schools teaching the kids that they are special, unique and that there's no one else like them in the whole world. I share with them that they were created with their own unique gifts and talents to be used for their purpose on this earth. I was privileged to receive the Channel 10 ABC leadership award this year here in San Diego, CA. Profiles in Caring, a TV show followed me to Camp Pendleton where I gave an assembly to about 800 kids and gave each classroom their own "Cammy" P.T. One of my goals is to have P.T. in schools everywhere and to use P.T. in churches to share God's message to kids. The great thing about P.T. is that all ages are benefiting from it's message. The elderly, people who are battling disease, children who have special needs, and just anyone who needs a little love and encouragement. My new book that just came out "P.T.'S BIG SURPRISE" is a story of finding friendship in unlikely places and celebrating our differences. I'm looking forward to how God is going to give me opportunities to share my faith and to be obedient to His call on my life.
