Biography
Mark was born in 1973 and raised in East Yorkshire, northern England. His passion for music was apparent at a young age - loving the times when his dad would play vinyl LPs of artists such as Simon & Garfunkel, Bob Dylan, Dire Straits and Bread.
The Wigglesworth connection
His first acoustic guitar arrived at age 7 but only in recent years did Mark discover that his great-granddad - who had bought him the instrument - had spent time with the 'Apostle of Faith' Smith Wigglesworth. This rich heritage revealed the earliest known connection of Mark's love of music with a strong passion for depth of encounter with God.
Bands & old Vauxhalls
During the 1990s lengthy stints with the bands Damarius and subsequently Eff-com as lead guitarist saw Mark play pubs, clubs, festivals and even schools around the UK. One of his cherished memories is actually arriving alive after navigating the M62 to the Crossfire Festival with half a band and full drum kit crammed into a very temperamental hand-painted Vauxhall Chevette!
Studios, CDs & worship
Mark has also tutored guitar, worked on session vocals & guitar for various artists and increased his studio engineering & mixing involvement - including some assisting for Matt Hill on a couple of 'Audacious' CD projects.
Mark's free 4 song EP 'MPFree' was released in early 2008 and is available as free MP3 downloads from his website www.markpiercemusic.com. He is currently writing new martial for a full studio release and can regularly be found leading worship for Flame of Fire Global Links in York.
