The musical journey of Mark Clarke began at age five at a small church in Brooklyn, New York. For 2 decades, songs of faith, hope and Christ's love emanated through the walls of that little building as he and his siblings, dubbed "The Clarke Specials" sang week after week. Yet Mark himself did not know that those years would also serve as God's incubator. Forming, honing innate music skills that would reach people in places far beyond that local area. More importantly, this was the birthplace of his relationship with Jesus, the backbone of his life and ministry. As a young man growing up in a single parent home, he needed mentors to guide him. As only He can, God met those needs through a couple of musicians at the church. These two men, a music minister and a blues guitarist, became his role models and music teachers. The musical foundation he would receive through them would eventually be like the stone David used to strike Goliath. Seemingly small and insignificant at first but soon becoming a powerful tool that God would use for His own glory. Upon branching out from Brooklyn, Mark would be granted privileges to minister to thousands, even through local and international television and eventually, overseas. He would also be hired as a recording studio vocalist, write jingles for Christian radio, and produce recordings of his own music as well as Christmas CD's benefiting local and foreign missionary efforts. After many years, Mark, in a recent conversation with one of his mentors thanked him again for taking the time to guide him and share his knowledge of music, now realizing the impact of the investment. You see, his teachers sought no financial compensation for taking him as their protégé. His mentor simply responded by saying "just pass it on." Today Mark resides in Virginia with his wife, Jane and their four children. There he serves as Music & Arts Pastor at a local church where he is joyfully "passing it on" by mentoring and coaching teams of vocalists and musicians. He has served in music ministry for more than 20 years including full-time tenures in Indiana and his current ministry venue. To book Mark for your next event contact: worshiptunes@yahoo.com
