Influences:
C.S. Lewis, Francine Rivers, Karen Hancock, just to name a few (what author of books I've read hasn't influenced me?)
Similar To:
I'd like to say my writing is similar to C.S. Lewis. Then I think perhaps John Bunyan (author of Pilgrim's Progress). And for modern writers, perhaps like Randy Alcorn. I have also been greatly influenced by Francine Rivers. Bottomline - my writing presents Biblical truths through story. It's not romance, though a romantic thread may exist. It's not suspense, though that thread may be strong. However, readers have describe my writing as powerful, compelling, rich, engaging.

About Lynn Squire
I LOVE TO WRITE but it can't compare to being saved. As a believer that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and that He died, was buried, and rose again in order to save me from my sins, I know where I will be the moment my life here on earth is ended.

As a wife, I know what is expected of me from God, and occasionally from my husband (whom I love and cherish very much).

As a mother, I know that my life and the lives of my children are in the hands of an all-powerful, all-knowing, ever-present, eternal, holy, just, and loving Creator.

As an author, I am compelled to see the world, not through man's eyes, not even through my eyes, but through the eyes of an all-seeing God, as He exposes it and His plans for it in His Holy Word.

My life becomes defined, not by what I believe about myself (because I know that my heart, despite my efforts, is deceitful), but by the Creator's hand as He works within me to mold me into a new creation. So, though I have the freedom to make my own decisions (and therefore my own mistakes), I know that ultimately I am held in the hands of Someone more wise than myself, more knowledgeable, more righteous, and more powerful than myself. This security propels me into a life guided by God's holy, perfect, and eternal Word, and the adventures, trials, blessings, and riches such a life presents.

I write because I love to write; I write because I am compelled to write; I write because it provides an opportunity to share the Gospel with others. When I designed Faith, Fiction, Fun and Fanciful, my E-zine, I found myself loving every part of the process. I pray that my readers enjoy it as much as I do.

The following is a checklist for getting your manuscript from point A to Pitch. But even before you start on this list, if you've never written a novel or a book, consider taking a course from the Christian Writer's Guild. Taking courses won't guaran... (login or sign up to read more)

What Publishing Path Should You Take?   12/07/2009 - 8:27 AM
You have this great idea. It's been growing in your heart and mind for years and finally you've committed it to paper. What now? Determine why you wrote what you wrote. I know, this sounds simplistic, but I want you to dig deeper than "because I'v... (login or sign up to read more)

Moabite Writers: Self Published vs Traditional Pub   12/02/2009 - 12:41 PM
We have heard the pride of Moab, (he is exceeding proud) his loftiness, and his arrogancy, and his pride, and the haughtiness of his heart. Jeremiah 48:29 The nation of Moab had plenty of opportunity to know God. They were descendants from Lot, Ab... (login or sign up to read more)

Preachy Fiction: Does It Have a Place?   11/11/2009 - 9:07 AM
In the course of my fiction writing career I have received advice from many well-intentioned people. However, I have gained a confidence in the direction I am heading that I've never had following their lead. In the past I occasionally feared if I... (login or sign up to read more)

While It Is Still Day   10/21/2009 - 8:09 AM
The Baptist church at Olchon, Wales (like other Baptist churches and many other dissenters) endured "mockings, scourgings, bonds and imprisonment" under the direction of King Charles II and the Church of England. The Baptist Church met in secret by n... (login or sign up to read more)

Nihil amori Christi praeponere! Value NOTHING more than the love of Christ - one of my favourite prayers. As well as psalm 25...God Bless you in this New Year.
