Local - Global - Eternal a huge success!!!
Can you hear it? Something is rumbling in Virginia. It is a new movement. A blend of culture, music and people and a desire to affect change, in our local, global, and eternal community.
The event is called Local - Global - Eternal, a Concert for Recovery. The show will kick-off at 2:00 pm on March 15, 2008 at The Perfect Blend Café, located at 3900 Bonney Road in Virginia Beach and is free and open to the public. Seventeen acts, from various genres (plus an Open Mic period), are scheduled to perform during a 9 hour period on 2 stages.
The Main Stage performances come from Hemotheory, Epiq, Monument, Bobby Deyoe, Point of Honor, Keli Nicole, 4th Day Band, Arise the Rider and Arcadian Flashback. The host for this stage is Side Splitting Steve. The Café Stage will be hosted by Ronnie Wyatt and features JT Phillips, Ricky Byrum, 4 Brothers, Kole Matheson, airo ,Vince Kornegay, Travis Jaye, Open Mic and Michael Hensen.
The goals for this concert are numerous. First, we want to bring awareness to local and global issues and affect change. We will be accepting donations during the concert for the following: 1) locally, for The Perfect Blend Café, a non-profit coffee shop and concert venue that supports a variety of local recovery programs; 2) globally, to sponsor orphans at the Hands and Feet Project Children's Village located in Haiti and through Children's Hunger Relief Fund, to provide clean water to villages in Africa; 3) eternally, we most importantly desire to share Jesus Christ's promise of eternal life.
Our second goal is to bring together artists from a variety of genres. This show has it all; Acoustic, Alternative, Blues, CCM, Easy Listening, Folk, Hardcore/Screamo, Indie, Metal, Praise and Worship, Rhythm & Blues, Rap, Rock, and Soul. This is a dream come true for the founder of Hampton Roads Christian Musicians Unite, Jeff McCormack. Jeff started www.HRCMU.com with the mission of bringing together local Christian musicians, from all genres of music, in order to boost exposure and strengthen the local Christian music scene. This show also promotes the vision of The Perfect Blend by "being an influence with emphasis on community, culture, music, laughs and faith".
Our third goal is to give back to the performers. Too many times these outstanding artists play for free. This is our chance to thank them. Our goal is to have each performer sponsored by a local small business. Through this relationship, the business will be listed on the concert flyer, reaching over 15,000 people. During the show, the sponsor's information will be posted, on large screens during their sponsored artist's performance. In addition, the sponsor will have a space on the sponsor information table, set-up at the venue.
