I am a paralegal and a freelance writer, specializing in interviews and profiles, covering local government, and other non-fiction writing. My company is www.olivetreeenterprisesllc.com, which sponsors the e-zine, www.sensiblelife.com. My area of legal specialty is contract negotiation, research and analysis.
I'm married to a great Christian gentleman, Kim, and we have four children, Sandy, David, Suzy & Katie, as well as one grandchild, Olivia, and another one on the way. As the last child left the nest about 7 years ago, we started replacing them with Great Danes. That's right, Great Danes. We now have 3 of these lovable, giant couch potatoes -figuratively speaking. They are not allowed on the furniture, unless it's their own personal doggie sofa.
My husband and I are a photo journalism team, and much of our focus this past year has been work for a magazine that is focused on Indiana, particularly the southern portion of the state. This magazine can be viewed online at www.silivingmag.com
I was a member of Northside Christian Church in New Albany Indiana for 22 years before helping one of the youth ministers, Rodney Foster, start The Crossing. This church, www.mycrossing.org, has been a fast growing blessing to our community. As pastor Foster listened to God calling him to this purpose, he began The Crossing in 2004 with 3 couples and immediately added twice that in members. The Crossing is now bursting at the seams and is seeking a larger building for the 200 members (and growing) it serves.
In my career, I've had the privilege of working with wonderful attorneys at two of the area's largest defense firms, as well as a short stint for a well known personal injury firm. Corporate has always been my passion more so than litigation, so about 6 years ago, I accepted a position negotiating contracts for a fortune 300 company in my area. I've had absolutely no regrets, as this position has not only expanded my paralegal skills, but has also furthered my freelance writing career.
Although I've dabbled in some fiction writing, my strength and passion is non-fiction -especially when it involves a Christian subject. I particularly enjoy profiles of people, interviewing each to draw out their story. Everyone has a story to tell, and everyone has a purpose on this earth. I truly love being the voice that can bring those experiences from their hearts and minds to the readers who enjoy learning about them and how they have impacted the world for Christ.
