About Louisville Christian Writers
|
Louisville Christian Writers, aka LCW, has been around for over 15 years. Our ACW (American Christian Writers) affiliate group was started from a local conference instructor, Donna Roberts. At that time, we were known as "Joy Writers". We meet together monthly to encourage one another in writing, in ministry, and to educate each other on how to improve our talents so God can better use us.
Our group of Christians who write meets on the 2nd Saturday of every month in the Community Room on basement level 2 at Norton Audubon Hospital on Poplar Level Rd. We meet from 4:30pm to 5:30pm for our critique session, with the meeting sessions following from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.
Session Notes: The writing session will always be open to the public. These sessions will generally include some type of writing instruction, be it in the form of a speaker or a writing exercise, and any other business about writing we can fit in. The critique sessions are for our growth as writers and are open to all as well, however, we offer priority reading for the MSS of our paid members as a benefit of their membership. If you join us for critiques, come prepared with 4-5 copies of your typewritten, double-spaced, and double-spell-checked (by computer and manual spell-check) manuscript of no more than 4 pages.
About LCW Membership: Membership is open to all Christians who write, regardless of each writer's level of expertise, experience, or choice of genre. Dues are only $30 for the first year and $25 per year thereafter. Dues are mostly for the cost of our newsletter creation where all members are encouraged to submit. As we grow our online community, we are opening membership for $10 to those who cannot attend our meetings but would like to stay involved by sharing blog updates and participating in online critique sessions. All paid members will have an opportunity to be published in our newsletter, but if they need copies mailed to them, they will need to cover their own postage costs.
For more information, you can visit our regular website at http://www.lcwriters.com, or send us a message via our Facebook business page at http://www.facebook.com/lcwriters.. In addition, you can follow meeting and between-meeting updates on Twitter.
Finally, if you have received a friend invitation from us, you have likely listed yourself on Shoutlife as a Kentucky or Indiana author. I'm sending requests even to those a bit far away in case you may have friends or family in the Louisville area. Should visits to them bring you nearby on the 2nd Saturday of the month, you might want to attend a meeting. In addition, I'd like to communicate with others who are members of local ACW and ACFW chapters, or give you information on how to start your own chapter group with American Christian Writers. Beyond all of this, there may be an occasion where I am looking for a speaker to visit our group, and I'd like to consider other Shoutlife authors when I am searching.

Today, I prayed and thought of you, and the Lord led me to see that you could use a word of encouragement and rest.
"Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you'll recover your life. I'll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me?watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you'll learn to live freely and lightly."

Shalom and Warm ShoutOuts,
Welcome to my personal SL cyber family, LCW. Although I am not a member of your group, I am willing to stand in prayerful agreement with your mission to lift Jesus up in the form of Christian composition and publicattion....and as a pastor/author, Christian musician/psalmist and member of SL since 2007, I want you to know that I truly count it a pleasure to be added to your list of cyber friends and acquaintances.
Meeting you here on SL, reminds me of how truly blessed the church is with that the advent of the technology giving us the PC and web. These electronic outlets have clearly afforded us the opportunity to come across many new and talented people, who, like yourself, without this technology: I'd never know. God has truly reduced the size of this world down to the size of a mere monitor and keyboard.
May you continue to experience His favor and loving grace in the new year. And know that I count it a blessing to count you as a cyber friend. Selah!
Pastor Paul
