Oh, I put some of this in my blog post About Me, but I might go ahead and delete that. I feel somewhat bad because I stole some of Patrick's ideas, but they were pertinent to me, too. So I don't feel too bad...lol. Here they are:

spirituality. truth. beauty. occasionally silliness. trees. clouds. birds. the depths of human souls. art. writing. history. Scripture. theology. pondering. listening. watching. Had to leave it. I really couldn't change one thing on here. Will add a couple, though: cross-stitching and friends.
Music
Shoutlife Favorites: Tanya Gordan, Ceili Rain, Indira Ortiz, Maron Gaffron, Gretchen, Hoi, Mary Ruth, The Crossing, Michelle Tumes, Leah Martensen, Watershed Worship, Kevin Max, Tammy Trent, Lyrycyst, Bob Carlisle, Michael W. Smith

the wind blowing through pines and cedars, birds singing on a cool Fall morning, the ocean lapping up against a sailboat, a kayak paddle piercing the water, ravens calling to each other from distant trees, playing pennywhistle in the midst of a storm. And more conventional music too. Ok, I had to leave this, because it works for me, too. I have to add the sound of children laughing to it, though, as well as rain through the trees and the ocean pounding the shore. For conventional music, my favorites right now are Josh Groban and Jars of Clay. I also love Edwin McCain's music, Five For Fighting, Dave Matthews, Nickelback, Santana, Matchbox 20, Kutless, Family Force Five, Steven Curtis Chapman...and I'll think of more...

Books
Nope. Not gonna do it. There are just too many.

Movies/TV
Movies I'm an oddball. I love action films, and I'm learning to like modern war films. I love historical films, too, and foreign films. Fantasy, not so much, but sci-fi, absolutely. Comedy on a good day, especially slapstick, though Dumb and Dumber is too dumb for me. A good drama is hard to find, and chick flicks - well, they're cheaper by the dozen. Oldies are good, and musicals are romantic. In that light, I just can't pick one or two.

Television I never get control of the remote, thanks to my dad, but there are a few I like. The really suspenseful, supernatural, and paranormal ones really catch my eye. Heroes is now my new favorite. At one time, Buffy and Angel were ones I watched regularly, until I saw all of them. Star Trek Voyager is, in my opinion, one of the better ST shows. I'm not a fan of sitcoms, though I've liked one or two in my time. I hate reality TV, but I love Amazing Race. Go figure. Archeaological shows fascinate me, and Brit shows on PBS are a big hit.

Struggle Creek (2007)
A collaboration project with 27 different authors through a group called Peculiar People.

Mystery...

Generations ago, a Civil War skirmish was fought on the banks of Struggle Creek. Now, a different battle has come to the small Tennessee town. The source seems to stem from a mysterious metallic dome found hidden deep in the woods.

Meanwhile, a gang of rowdy teenagers barges into town. A single mother and her deaf teenager appear from nowhere and the mother falls deathly ill. The community's peace is shattered by fear.

Secrets...

The once trusting and close-knit community is unraveling. Could one of them be behind the secret in the woods that has already cost one life? Could one of them be a killer?

Faith...

Against the backdrop of fear and mistrust, the local theater plans a drama of light and dance, unlike anything the backwoods town has ever seen. Will this outlandish gesture draw the people of Struggle Creek back to faith and togetherness? Or will their bitterness and fear rob this cozy community of its innocence?

If I had been told five years ago that I would be writing a book in five years, I would not have believed you.

If they had told me the same thing two years ago, I would've shrugged and said, "Maybe someday."

Someday has come.

I'm working on my first novel - a suspense thriller with some supernatural elements to it. I don't know if it will be publishable, because I am still only in the planning stage. I certainly hope so, but until then this book will give me the practice that I need.

June third today and I'm closing in on the end of War of Attrition. May I get in your summer line-up and ask for a critique of War of Attrition: Book Two of the Underground? I'll probably be ready by early July. Would that be okay?
Thanks.
