Influences:
Every adoption book I've ever read has influenced me in some way to write "The Adoption Decision." I wanted to create something different than the typical "how to adopt" manual. My book addresses "heart" issues -- the insecurities, fears, and questions adoptive parents have before, during, and after adoption.

The story-based book is an entertaining read -- it's packed with engaging anecdotes and advice from adoptive parents (including myself),and it approaches the adoption process from a distinctly Christian worldview.

I wrote "The Adoption Network" because I wanted to create a practical workbook for people interested in starting an adoption ministry in their church or community.

The Adoption Decision (2007)
Have you been thinking about adoption
without thinking it through?

It's easy to plunge right into the many details involved with adoption. First, though, it's a great idea to step back and take a broader view. How will adopting a child affect your daily life? Your family? Your emotional life?

You, or someone close to you, may have questions and feelings about…

• loving an adopted child
• extended family's reaction
• expenses
• openness in adoption
• the role of birth parents
• physical disabilities
• emotional/behavioral challenges
• racial and cultural prejudices

This quick-start resource grounds adoption in God's master plan for His family, while recounting miracles and mishaps of real-life adoptive families. All this helps you understand the changing world of adoption, get a better grasp on its challenges and joys, and confidently move forward on a firm emotional and spiritual footing.
