Kathryn started writing when she was 10 years old. Fortunately for the world none of those stories were published. She always wrote about a white horse, a man riding the white horse and a rose! The man and horse were always coming to rescue her. When no man on a white horse came riding up to her door, she crumpled the story and went outside to ride her horse.
In the past year she pulled a manuscript she wrote over twenty years ago,out of the box she had stored it in. She started bringing it up to date.During that time, Kathryn's Mother passed away. While she was helping her Father sort through her Mother's things, she found a shoebox full of articles she had written for the paper. Kathryn wrote an "Erma Bombeck" type column for the Morrow County Sentinel from 1984 to 1989. She did not save any of those articles, but fortunately her Mother had. Kathryn's husband suggested she have those articles published. In October 2007, "The Shorter Version" was "born". During that same time she was working on bringing 'Temporary Assignment' up to date, she got an idea about a search and rescue handler who saved people. Her dog's name was Nikko. That one thought became her next novel. Boone's Creek-Almost Home was published March 2008.
She is busy working on two sequels to Boone's Creek now.
She is still waiting to hear from a publisher regarding 'Temporary Assignment'.
