We have a Senior Citizen Group at Juniper Bay which is led by Junior & Mary James. They have special meetings and suppers throughout the month. There is always a special trip that is planned for our Seniors....one that you will enjoy thoroughly!

The Pastor's Pen
Do you remember those wonderful tests in school where you had to fill in the blanks? When I came to questions like that, my mind often went blank. So I am going to give you a fill in the blank statement. God is _____________. So how did you do? You know there is so much that we could have inserted in the blank, because God, after all, is the Alpha & Omega. He is everything....but if I had to write in one word, it would be love. God is love. The first characteristic people learn about God is that he loves us from John 3:16. "For God so loved the world that He have His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life." What a great verse!
Of course, when the month of February arrives, many think of love...Valentines day, of course, is on the 14th, a day set aside to express our love to family & friends. During the month of February, I will be preaching on the subject of love and the youth will be helping me out with the introduction. Also, during the month of February, we will kick off "A Heart for Haiti". Throughout February you will have the opportunity to give to the people of Haiti. Continue to pray for the people of Haiti, but also remember the churches that were destroyed there as well. Pray for our fellow brother's & sister's in Christ who not only lost family & homes but also their place of worship. So I trust you will give if you have not already! May God Bless You!

"Ryan's Reflections"
February is going to be an exciting month for the Student's Ministry here at Juniper Bay. We are beginning by having our focus united with our new purpose statement. This statement, along with God's Word, will serve as our direction and guide to the work and function of this ministry. The new purpose statement is:
"Juniper Bay Student Ministry exists to EXPOSE teenagers to God's love, to EQUIP them to EXALT God, ENJOY other believers and ENGAGE students in the work of the ministry."
I believe that this statement creatively includes the five purposes for all ministries as presented in the teaching of Jesus. These five purposes are to evangelize, disciple, worship, fellowship, and be on a mission. Everything that we do in our student ministry needs to be in the effort of fulfilling at least one of these purposes. Along with the new purpose statement, the youth have made mention that they would like to give the student ministry a unique name, so be on the lookout for a new student ministry name coming in the near future!
In addition, we will also be starting a new schedule for the Student's Ministry activities on Wednesday nights. Here is our new schedule:
Wednesday - 4:00pm - Homework/Hangout Time
6:00pm - Dinner is served
6:30pm - Youth Choir
7:00pm - Youth Service
Homework/Hangout Time - The FLC will be open at 4:00pm for the students to come by at any time and do their homework or hangout and play games. This will serve as a great time of fellowship and building community for the group.
Supper: We will be serving the youth and volunteers supper on Wednesday evenings, provided on a rotating basis by parents volunteers.
Youth Service - Constructed to be "visitor friendly" yet centered on worshiping God in a youth focused manner. The increase of time to an hour allows for more opportunities to enjoy exciting activities, as well as worship through song and biblical teaching.
We are excited and looking forward to seeing God work in this ministry as He leads us through these new changes and additions. We welcome you to stop by and see what God is doing in the lives of these students, as well as ask that you continue to pray for the members of the student ministry as they seek to grow in Christ and exhibit faith in their lives.
