Pastor Joy Lester is a native of Grand Rapids Michigan. She is one of thirteen children, four brothers and eight sisters. She is a wife and mother of four beautiful children and two grandchildren. Pastor Joy and her husband Pastor Parris are founders of House of Prayer Ministries Int'l.

Pastor Joy was exposed to the singing ministry at an early age,performing in high school talent shows and musicals. She has sung background vocals for pastor and well-known gospel artist, Marvin Sapp.


Pastor Joy is an incredible worship leader, song writer, as well as a gifted and anointed psalmist. Her rich and powerful alto voice is anointed to penetrate the spiritual darkness and bring deliverance from oppositions and bondages from the evil one. Joy's desire is to use her voice as a mighty weapon to pull down strongholds according to II Corinthians 10:4 "For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds."
