WIND DANCER (2009)
Isabelle Renoir is
not like other women around her. A free spirit, she dances in the moonlight
as a praise offering to God and is more at home fearlessly taking her long rifle
and knife into the woods for adventure and inspiration.
But Isabelle's latest journey may be more than even her strength can handle
when the raven-haired beauty finds herself smitten by rugged American spy
Samuel Holt.
The Duchess and the Dragon (2008)
Accustomed to the quiet life of devotion to her Quaker faith and servitude to her fellow man in the colony of Pennsylvania, Serena is little prepared for a member of the English nobility to move into her bedroom. On a mission of mercy, Serena and her sister visit the sick in the hold of a ship newly arrived from England. Here, among the indentured servants, she meets a man who is as dark and mysterious as the sinful nature she has been taught to shun. She tells herself she won't leave her faith for him, that she will not change for a man, but little by little she is drawn away into the enticing world of Drake.
Snow Angel (2007)
When Noah Wesley heard the faint sound outside the door of his remote Alaskan mountain cabin during a violent nighttime blizzard, it was no less than the voice of God that urged him to take a closer look, soon to discover his snow angel.
Unconscious and more than half frozen to death, her name, as Noah would later learn after boldly saving her life, was Elizabeth, a beautiful young woman, fragile yet fierce, and intent on discovering gold like so many others in that region during the late 1800s.
But why Elizabeth was so drawn to the gold, and why she would chase it even through a pounding storm that no man would dare face, was a secret to be shared with no one else, not even at the invitation of Noah's deep blue trusting eyes.
First time novelist Jamie Carie pens a can't-put-down debut in Snow Angel, a masterfully romantic story wherein cold and lonely hearts risk everything to be forever warmed.
Born and raised in the small, historical town of Vincennes, Indiana, Jamie is the oldest of five children. When she was six, her parents accepted Christ as their Savior, which changed everything. Excited about Jesus, her dad decided to take a giant leap of faith, quit his welding job and start a church.
Some of her favorite memories are the road trips she used to take with her dad, driving to home Bible studies across southern Indiana where Jim would preach. After a night of teaching and ministry, they would drive home and talk of things beyond earth's bounds - creation and the fall, God and Jesus and the rapture, the earthly walk compared to the spiritual walk, and how we are born for more than what we can see or touch. The highlight of those nights was stopping at a truck stop where her dad would spend a little of the offering basket on two slices of pie and a couple of Cokes. Nothing ever felt so special as a middle of the night slice of pie with her dad.
As Jamie grew closer to God and developed her own relationship with Him, she discovered a heart welling with songs and poetry. In high school, she sang in a band with her brother and their friends, writing most of the band's lyrics. Music has become a life-long passion for Jamie, something she believes is one of the most inspiring and powerful gifts God has given us.
After college, Jamie married, had a brief stint as an office manager and then, after having two sons, decided it was more fun to stay at home with her boys. She homeschooled for five years, joining a wonderful group of families in a supportive co-op. Teaching in the co-op opened new avenues of creativity and Jamie began writing skits, poems and articles for her school and church. When her oldest son turned five, she began to write in earnest.
She had been reading romance novels for years when she felt the Lord's desire for her to loosen her grip. She tried reading Christian romance novels, but found that she couldn't relate to the saintly characters, so she decided to write a story of her own - a story she wanted to read, a story she could relate to, a story about God's redeeming love.
Update: Snow Angel came out in September 2007 and has since won a Best Books of 2007 Award from USA Book News AND won Best Book of 2007 in the Romance catagory by ForeWord Magazine!
