A Treasure in the Pleasure of Loving God (2007)
Recently, the Lord gave me a directive to, "Teach My people to love me, for if they truly love me, they will obey me." Wow! What a monumental task. How do you teach the people of God to love God? Everything within me knew that this was going to be a journey unlike any other. When God gives a mandate of this magnitude it requires prayer, fasting and a lot of on your face time before the Lord. Do not take your mandate from the Lord lightly or thoughtlessly.
The Lord also told me that I was going on a journey and the journey required that I grow to a deeper level of intimacy in Him. I began to inquire of the Lord the manner in which I should go to move to a deeper level in Him. I realized that I was about to move to a place in God that few people will ever go. I say this because of several statements the Lord made before, during and after telling me to go deeper.
Every encounter with God during this new season involved love, intimacy, and communication between us. He often spoke of love and its relationship to our life of prayer, fasting and obedience. The Spirit of the Lord would bring songs to my heart and each song was more intimate than the first. One morning the Spirit of the Lord said, "The music that you are about to birth for me requires a deeper level of intimacy, therefore you must go deeper into me." For the past few months, the Lord has been pouring His Spirit into me. The music that I have been writing for the new CD, the Spoken Word of Love is filled with the inspiration and power of God. The intimacy and love of each song astounds me. The Lord would awaken me in the middle of the night with lyrics that play repeatedly in my spiritual ear. The choir sang as a record player switched to repeat. I believe the journey to teaching the people of God to love God will begin with the worship music of this CD. With each song, my love grows to a deeper level of intimacy and as a result the Lord allows me to teach that which I have experienced to His people.
This journey of love and discovery is blowing my mind. The depth of my love relationship grows deeper with each passing day. I find myself wanting to be alone with the Lord while I am cleaning the house, in the shower, or on the road driving. It does not matter where I am; I only want to worship Him. My desire to love on Him grows inside of me to a point of implosion. Absolute surrender to an absolute God is the result of such a hunger for worship. WOW! Lord Jesus you overwhelm me.
I now realize that the journey the Lord spoke of is the same journey that will enable me to obey the voice of the Lord and "teach My people to love me."
It is my prayer that you enjoy this journey of discovery. I pray that you will find:

**obedience to Christ
**love for Christ
