Hannah's Hope: Seeking God's Heart in the Midst of Infertility, Miscarriage, & Adoption Loss (2005)
Insightful and heartfelt encouragement for couples dealing with infertility, miscarriage or failed adoption. Building on the story of Hannah (First Samuel, chapter 1), Jennifer Saake interweaves her personal experiences with advice gleaned from over ten years of providing aid to grieving families through the support network she co-founded with husband Rick, Hannah's Prayer Ministries.
While remaining true to the very real and anguishing emotions of longing for a child, Jenni continually directs her readers back to the comfort and strength of a compassionate God. Each chapter concludes with a special "Burden Bearers" section offering practical suggestions for pastors, family members and friends.
Please come read the first chapter on my website. It's free! :)

A Rose in Heaven: A Journey of Hope and Healing for Women who Grieve the Loss of Their Baby (1999)
CONTRIBUTING AUTHOR. After the death of her daughter to stillbirth, Dawn Siegrist Waltman compiled this wonderful collection of devotional reflections from her personal journals. Along with a handful of other bereaved mothers facing losses ranging from miscarriage through early infant death, I had the honor of sharing 3 devotional reflections on early pregnancy loss and also subsequent pregnancy after loss.

About Jennifer Saake, InfertilityMom :)
|
Hi, I'm Jenni, a.k.a. "Hannah". No, I've never lived in Montana. ;) I'm talking Hannah as in 1 Samuel, chapters 1 and 2. My "split personality" is attributed to co-launching Hannah's Prayer Ministries and writing the book Hannah's Hope.
While Hannah is a huge part of my life, there's much more too. My parents, Ralph and Betty Camp, are with Cadence International (formerly Overseas Christian Servicemen's Centers or OCSC) so I grew up around the military, moving as frequently as military families. I attended 9 different schools by the time I graduated from high school (including 2 different homeschool seasons/locations) and have lived in at least 22 different homes all over the US and 3 parts of Japan. I am a high school homeschool graduate and attribute much of what God has been able to do through my life to the study skills I learned at home. Rick and I met my freshman year of college at The Master's College (John MacArthur) in southern California and married 2 years later. I have one older brother who lives in Washington with his family -a big ShoutLife welcome to my SIL Diana!
I'm probably best described as a "hat juggler". What hats am I juggling? Let's see...
- Wife of 15 1/2 years
- Mommy of 2 sons and 1 little princess after many years of infertility
- Mommy to 3 more in Heaven and Mommy-At-Heart to 7 who did not come home through adoption
- author ( Hannah's Hope published by NavPress in 2005, contributing author to a handful of additional books, multiple periodical articles, several more books in various stages of development)
- homeschool teacher to a 3rd grader and a Kindergartener
- toddler mom in the midst of potty training adventures
- work-at-home mom as a representative for Blessed Toys and a consulant for Affordable Mineral Makeup
- founder of the Inner Beauty Blog and Inner Beauty for Girlz & Teenz, offering makeup tips, beauty secrets, book and product reviews, contest, GIVE-AWAYS and more.
- international infertility and pregnancy loss support network co-founder, Hannah's Prayer Ministries
- managing chronic illness since age 18
- Christian, actively pursuing a relationship with God
For infertility and/or loss support, please join us in the Shoutlife Hannah's Hope encouragement group! View my bio, blogs and sample chapter of my book, Hannah's Hope: Seeking God's Heart in the Midst of Infertility, Miscarriage & Adoption Loss (Nav Press, 2005), at www.HannahsHopeBook.com.
Blessed Toys offers quality Christian toys and dolls including 12 inch "talking" Messengers of Faith dolls, 18 inch "America Girl" style Proverbs 31 dolls, and Tales of Glory figures! These are wonderful for church and school fundraisers. :)

Jenni, sorry to be so late responding to your note. I was away most of June and returned home sick and just now trying to catch up on things. Thank you for recommending Rest Ministries, and I will check it out when I get a chance. The publisher for my poetry books is PublishAmerica, and you can go to their website, http://www.publishamerica.com/ for more information and submissions. Living Waters is a Christian publishing company, and they are doing my children's books, which are still with the illustrator now. Their website is http://livingwaterspc.com/
Blessings,
Connie

Join me in getting to know some of your favorite people here at Shoutlife:
Welcome to the 2008 edition of getting to know your friends. Okay, here's what you're supposed to do, and try not to be lame and spoil the fun! Copy this entire email and paste into a new email that you can send, change all the answers so that they apply to you. Then send this to a whole bunch of people you know, INCLUDING the person that sent it to you. Some of you may get this several times (that means you have lots of friends).
1. What is your occupation? Writer and greatest Nana in the world.
2. What color are your socks? Barefoot most of the time or flip flops!
3. What are you listening to right now? Jeopardy on TV
4. What was the last thing that you ate? Shrimp caprase from Olive Garden
5. Can you drive a stick shift? You betcha, but I'd rather not
6. If you were a crayon, what color would you be? burnt orange
7. Last person you spoke to on the phone? My friend Tammy
8. Do you like the person who sent this to you? Just met here at Shoutlife, but she seems like a lot of fun!
9. How old are you today? 43 for 5 more days. Yikes!!!!
10. Favorite drink? Ice water
11. What is your favorite sport to watch? Are ya ready for some football?

13. Pets? Two rescue dogs--a Lab named Angel and a collie mix named Molly
14. Favorite food? Mexican
15. Last movie you watched? Get Smart...very funny if you haven't seen it yet
16. Favorite Day of the year? The day we set the clocks back in the fall. I get an extra hour of sleep.
17. What do you do to vent anger? I can't remember the last time I got angry so I'm not sure. I guess I just talk about it.
18. What was your favorite toy as a child? Paper dolls. I actually bought the one I played with most on Ebay last year. Ebay rocks.
19. What is your favorite, fall or spring? Spring, time for renewal
20. Hugs or kisses? Hugs!

22. Do you want your friends to email you back? Yes or blog or comment!!!
23. Who is most likely to respond? Dana and/or Julie Eller.
26. When was the last time you cried? I almost cried a couple weeks ago when I had to get on the roof to help lay shingles. I was afraid to step off the ladder to the roof. I prayed about it and God helped me deal with my fears. Yes, I helped lay shingles.
28. Who is the friend you have had the longest that you are sending this to? Molly Noble Bull!
29. Who is the friend you have had the shortest that you are sending this to? Dana!
30. Favorite smell? The inside of a book
31. What inspires you? Reading the Bible, being around positive people
32. What are you afraid of? gas prices
33. Plain, cheese or spicy hamburgers? The way my husband grills them. Don't forget to add a tomato fresh out of the garden.

I think perhaps it would be wise for us to commit to NEVER introduce our sisters to each other as the world perhaps would not survive. Tell me about yourself - and your interesting ID name. Sue

Ah, you're the second person to ... not ask! My younger sister thought it would be hysterical to get her four kids to call me "Uncle Sue" - revenge for the early years I suspect although I claim complete innocence!! :) It's lovely to be here at SL. I've never felt so welcome.
