Based out of Charleston SC, Holy City has been singing since December of 2001. The original group was a male trio consisting of the owner/lead singer Mike Bolen, Gene Haselden the baritone singer (still with the quartet), and Karl Rice was the tenor (Now sings tenor for The Anchormen). A few changes have happened along the way but our ninth year starts off with a new beginning as a Mixed Trio all from right around the Charleston area. The travel and distance the group members had between SC and NC, became too much on everyone and Holy City has decided to make a change. The new beginning as a Mixed Trio will kick off with the new year of 2010. Mike Bolen (lead/owner) and Gene Haselden (baritone) will remain in the same positions they have held the last 8 years, Rick Coker will remain as the keyboard player for Holy City, and Mike's son, Jake Bolen, will continue as the soundman. The new addidtion will be Kim Timko of Goose Creek, SC. Many of you will remember Kim from her time singing with Upward Bound out of the Columbia, SC area. Those who follow Holy City will also be glad to know that Mike's Mom and Dad will continue their very important roles as part of the Holy City Ministry. The group sings the Good Ol' Southern Gospel Music they all love to sing. They travel the Southeast doing around 100 dates each year. To uplift the christain and be a part of God's work in saving the lost is why they sing. Everyone with Holy City enjoys what they do and works hard to present a professional sounding, worshipful experience, that is uplifting and enjoyable for everyone.
