Lyric Colaratura Soprano Heide Holcomb Janshon has performed extensively throughout the U.S. and abroad. Audiences in Naples, Florida were delighted by her performances in A Tribute to the MGM Hollywood Musicals in March 2007. She has also had the privilege of performing the same tribute with the following orchestras between 2001 and 2007: Omaha Symphony (3/05); Edmonton, Ontario Symphony (2004); Pittsburgh Symphony (2/04); Oklahoma City Symphony (2/03); Ottawa Symphony (3/03); National Symphony at the Kennedy Center (5/03); Naples Symphony, Florida (1/02); Baltimore Symphony (2/02); St. Louis Symphony (5/02); Indianapolis Symphony (4/01); Detroit Symphony (6/01); Cincinnati Symphony (7/01); Milwaukee Symphony (10/01)....over 75 performances in all.
In 2002, Heide was seen by New York City Center audiences in the role of Mabel in Pirates of Penzance. Other appearances in 2002 included an operatic aria and duet program at the Convento do Beato in Lisbon, Portugal and an Oregon Symphony Orchestra Yuletide Celebration.
Heide holds a Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance from Florida State University and is an alumnus of the Orlando Opera Resident Artist program where she performed the roles of Antonia in Man of La Mancha, Juliette in Romeo et Juliette, Miss Wordsworth in Britten's Albert Herring, Norina in Don Pasquale and Poppea in L'Incoronazione di Poppea. After her relocation to New York City, she appeared with the Wildwood Park for the Performing Arts as Barbarina in The Marriage of Figaro, Syracuse Opera as Anne in The Merry Wives of Windsor, Orlando Opera as Valencienne in The Merry Widow and New York Chamber Opera as Elisa in Mozart's Il Re Pastore along with numerous performances of Mabel in Pirates of Penzance, Yum-Yum in the Mikado, and Josephine in HMS Pinafore with the New York Gilbert and Sullivan Players as well as originating the role of Joanie the world premiere of Incident at San Bajo with the NY Riverside Opera Ensemble.
Orchestral performances have included: Barber's Summer of 1915, Webber's Requiem and a most memorable performance as soprano soloist in Poulenc's Gloria under the baton of Robert Shaw. Heide made her Carnegie Hall debut as the soprano soloist in Handel's Messiah under the baton of John Rutter.
She praises God daily for the gift of her beautiful family...her husband Billy, four year old son Titus and three year old daughter Alina.
