"To RESCUE & RESTORE the orphans, Semi orphans, poor, neglected, and destitute children"
Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress" Jas 1:27
The vision: "To RESCUE & RESTORE the orphans, Semi orphans, poor, neglected, and destitute children"
Aim: My heart's sincere desire is "let no one escape from the love of Jesus"
1. THE HISTORY: On April 10, 1988 we have started our new ministry in a newly built colony. One Non Christian man namely Rama Chandra Rao with his family welcomed us. They accepted us gladly and gave their lives to Jesus. Their relatives and family members left them when the openly accepted to follow Jesus. We were very happy to have them. Few people used to gather for worship along with that family as the family head was a known figure in that colony. He was daily worker in building construction work. On December 28, 1989 while he was working he met in an accident and died on spot. He left his wife and two little kids. When I saw them hopeless and helpless as nobody from their family came forward to help them I decided to help them and show the love of Jesus.
First I took those two children and put them in a school and sent the mother to a sewing machine training center. Till their education was completed I stood beside them and helped then settle. As a family we all stood for them and helped their education, clothing etc., and we bought two sewing machines for her for maintenance. This incident gave us a big heart to help the poor KIDS, ORPHANS, and WIDOWS and also to start SEWING MACHINE TRAINING CENTER for widows. Later we used to help some kids of that kind in some homes and extend support to the care takers. But we found that the families who must be care takers are not faithful and become partial. Not treating the kids as their own so we decided to bring them to a place to look after and start AGAPE CHILDREN HOME & KARUNYA WIDOW HOME. And started HAKILA SEWING MACHINE TRAINING to help the women to earn money and learn the word of God. Our mail focus is to lead people to Christ. These days we are looking forward to present a sewing machine to the poor widows who learn stitching.
So The Agape Children's Home was officially established and opened for many in 1996 following one of the most severe cyclones in the area for several decades. Thousands lost their lives and many children were made orphans through the tragedy. We took into our home some children at that time that had lost their parents during the divesting floods. The Children's home was born. Since the start of the home many poor and destitute children have been helped both on short term and long-term bases. Only the needy and deserving cases can be taken in due to lack of room and facilities. The Home is run as an extended family. All the children are being brought up in the Christian tradition, with strong moral standards taught and maintained. Give them bright future and make them ROYAL & LOYAL people of the Lord.
2. THE PRESENT POSITION: Currently 20 children being cared for... Due to lack of local support and donor supports we are facing great hardships and these children are provided with shelter, food, clothing and a basic education at a local school. Medical attention is given as and when required. The happy atmosphere and the warm appreciation of the children for the little they do have cannot hide the great need there is for improvement. So as such we approach for furtherance and of help and support which will uplift us and make the children more feel and comfort. Please do have a soft corner in your heart to help the least of these as we save these children to win them for Christ. You are even welcome to visit our orphanage and stay with our children and show your compassion and love towards these orphaned and abandoned children. Apart from this orphanage, we do gospel work and spread the word of God in remote villages and we have some co-workers under our ministry and please do pray for these pastors and also for the work of Lord going in midst of pagan worshipers and Hindu masses in India. We approach your desk for guidance, encouragement, prayers and financial support for the furtherance of our ministry and orphanage. We do pray for you and for your dear family in all our prayers. Any suggestions for the improvement of our orphanage are welcome. If you need any information and pictures of our children home I will send you immediately. Thank you for your love offering. For God loveth a cheerful giver. Waiting for your favorable reply & support. Please do pray for us and for our work.
"He who is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and He will reward him for what he has done". Pro 19:17
A. The impact of child sponsorship: In a world with so much need and suffering, you might wonder if you can you make a difference? You can! Sponsorship gives you the opportunity to bring hope into the life of a child. By sponsoring a child, you can help meet the critical needs of a hurting child, you can show them someone cares, and you communicate the value and potential God has given them. You can offer lasting hope and a brighter future for a child living in extreme poverty.
B. What makes our sponsorship unique?: Our sponsorship strategy is geared toward empowering and equipping families, the local church and the leadership of the community to meet the needs of their children. We focus on long-term solutions - strengthening the families and communities in which the children live. Your monthly pledge will help meet the critical needs of the child you sponsor as well as other children in the community.
Our local staff develops specific plans in each community that address the spiritual, educational, health and emotional needs of every child.
1. Spiritual needs: Your support gives every child the opportunity to hear about and believe in Jesus. The gospel message is integrated into all of the child sponsorship activities in a culturally appropriate way.
2. Educational needs: These children are abused and some of them are sent for child labors. If we don't send them to school they will never see school in their lives. We help schools reform and improve the methods for developing children's minds and skills.
3. Health needs: Our staff works with the community to address chronic health problems and provide emergency care for the sick. Education about malnutrition, sanitation, first aid along with local health care representatives bring dramatic improvements to child sponsorship communities.
4. Emotional needs: Our staff also seeks to provide the love and support that God desires for the children. We build strong relationships with the children and their families through home visits and sponsorship activities. They demonstrate the love of Christ through counsel and friendship.
