I am a wife and veteran home school mother. As our two daughters move into adulthood I'm finding more time for my writing. Over the past several years I've published a handful of devotionals and poems.
It is my desire as a writer to encourage and admonish other Christian women to grow in their faith and learn to cherish God's grace in their lives.
Sometimes the Christian journey includes challenges that confuse and frighten. Hope comes when we flee to the "Strong Tower" we have in Christ and learn to cherish God as our dearest treasure.

One year of homeschool we celebrated the 100th day of school. Jessica was working on getting the concept on 100 into her mind. In preparation I had numerous things set out for her to count through out the day. We counted pennies stacking them in neat...

This morning I found an email in my box from one of the missionaries we support. He shared the hardships they are facing on the field right now and this quote.
"May you be overwhelmed by the Grace of God not the sorrows of life."
It is easy to...

A number of years ago we visited the Levi Coffin House in Fountain City, Indiana, just north of Richmond on a family vacation. Levi Coffin was a Quaker businessman who used his home as part of the "Underground Railroad" in the early decades of the ni...

I'm so excited this year about Vacation Bible School. Our theme is the Armor of God. The visual image of a Roman soldier clad in armor is strong and fun to work with. I feel like a little kid again just playing with the endless possibilities.
A...

Hi Teresa,
I understand about changes. Our son will graduate high school this May. It is amazing to think of them out on their own in the world. My emotions go from excitement and curiousity to see where God will lead them, to that tug on my heartstrings thinking about our "babies" moving on. Parenting is not for the faint of heart.
We'll keep encouraging one another and praying for our children.
Sending blessings and gentle hugs,
Lisa

Hi Teresa,
Thanks for rejoicing with us. Unfortunately, our house inspection didn't go well. Goodness, the guy must have been in a terrible mood, he marked us off on anything and everything. We are praying this doesn't cause a problem with the closing. Either way, God is in control.
How are you? How is your family?
Praying for you!
Gentle hugs and blessings,
Lisa
