Faith Awakened (2007)
Faith Awakened is set in Ireland of the future and explores questions of reality and virtual reality in a spiritual sense.
A computer technician gets more than she bargained for when she helps survivors enter virtual stasis to escape a raging plague. The technology takes them into a fantasy virtual world which they thought they'd designed, but they find themselves tightly under God's control at every moment.

About Grace Bridges *cyberdublin*

Irish Kiwi, globetrotting, writing a few novels at one time, Shoutlife addict... You can read some of my writing at http://authorgracebridges.ning.com - including the free e-book download of Faith Awakened, my sci-fi novel released last year. You can also listen to a radio interview I did on its release day.
Make sure you read some of my blogs here (further down the page) if you want to get to know me better. There's plenty in there!

I'm going to be on the road till November at least, never knowing where the next Internet connection is coming from. So please bear with me if I'm sometimes slow to respond. I'm hoping that various ports of call will offer a web service, but I can't be sure of anything. Well, if nothing else it will stop me from getting distracted from my writing... I hope! There are three or four books in my head and they all want out. Maybe this is their chance.
My phone broke so don't go texting me any more. Watch this space.
follow gracebridges at http://twitter.com
(This is my Twitter box. I can update it from my phone so it is likely to be more up-to-date than some other stuff you'll find around here!)
I am a cat person. Don't have any at the moment, because I'm globetrotting. But as soon as I settle down somewhere, just wait! I will find some. Cats are a necessity of life.
Well, this profile just keeps getting longer and longer, and parts of it are quite old. So just take a mosey down the page and see if there's anything you like the look of. I think the last time I updated it was in New Zealand, and now I'm in Scotland, still travelling around. Anyone know how to quick-dry a pair of jeans while you're in them? At least it isn't cold. Just wet.

I'm 28, a science fiction author and also a crazy Irish New Zealander living in Germany. I was homeschooled and because of that, I was able to read much more than other kids - and in the end it made me a writer! Hear the Faith Awakened soundtrack at www.shoutlife.com/faithsongs !!!

Been letting e-mail and Shoutlife pile-up as I polish WoA. I owe you a few replies I think. The beginning was very rough, and that conversation between CK and Barren needed cleaned-up badly. I've much improved their voices in that dialog.
Hope you're still lovin-it on the Emrald Isle--look forward to finally getting to meet you in two months!

If you are talking about my name (Excelsior) it is from a poem Nathaniel Hawthorn wrote about a young man who pressed through the lurers of this world and cried "Excelsior!" Which means 'ever higher, ever upward'.

*blurb* "The Chapel of Her Dreams" *blurb*
KAte's dreams are becoming more and more details and realistic. When her husband Phil discovers that the ruined Chapel actually exists .... and at one time belonged to his family when they were Kings in Ireland, the tale takes a new turn .....
the blending of histofical fact and contemporary action with a helping of a 'luuurrrve story' tossed in for good measure..... I'm halfway through vol. 2, Vol. 1 became c.120K words....

Hey, Grace!
Your name popped up on my ShoutLife page, and since I'm visiting Ireland soon I thought I'd say "Hi".
Purpose of visit: family background research combined with work on a Trilogy of novels I'm writing at the moment based on historical details from family history combined with my own original storyline, which results in a cross-genre fantasy yarn with a strong luuuuurve element...
still not sure HOW or WHY you appeared on my page, but hello anyway! I havwe a kid brother who went to live in New Zealand, and I intend to move TO Ireland once the British govt start hinting that I've earned enough [!!!] from sale of books to move me to a higher Income Tax band ....

"LORD, you have searched me and known me! 2 You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from afar.
3 You search out my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways.
4 Even before a word is on my tongue, behold, O LORD, you know it altogether." (Psalm 139:1-4. ESV.)
I pray you are having a beautiful day in God's sovereign grace.
In brotherly love,
Brook

A beautiful day to you my friend.
DRAW NEAR TO GOD AND HE WILL DRAW NEAR TO YOU
DIRECT GUIDANCE FROM GOD
Elijah was a man with the same passions we have and yet His communication with God was
a supernatural occurrence because he dared to draw near to God with an undivided heart. James 5:17. Those who believe and are totally surrendered to the will of the Father will seek and to be filled with the fullness of Him. Jesus prayed that we be one with Him , in spiritual unity with Him just as He is in spiritual unity with the Father. John 17:20-26. Paul Prayed that we might be filled with the fullness of God. Filled with the love, knowledge, wisdom and power of God. Ephesians 1:16; Ephesians 3:14; Colossians 1:9-11.
WHAT DOES ALL THIS MEAN?
God does this so that the world may know that the Father send Jesus and that He loves and works in and through us just as He did Jesus. We in undivided surrender to the will of the Father are to allow the Holy Spirit total control. Nothing held back. We seek and are empowered by God's Spirit by faith. We are to speak and act by the instructions of the Spirit of God only.1 Corinthians 1:5. Who teaches us all things. John 14:26; 1 John 2:27; Luke 12:12. It is the Spirit that causes us to understand the deep things of God. We are enriched by God's Spirit in our knowledge, our speech and our actions, proving valid the truth of His intentions for those who choose to believe Him before the whole world. The Spirit of God however does not force or drive one into wild compulsive neurotic actions. He ministers to us and through us in gentle dove like actions. He strengthens our weak human personality and empowers us to do His will. (The works of Jesus.) He does not over power us or force us. The issue at stake here is that we may be fulled with His fullness and through that fullness at work within us Christ is glorified. The main purpose of this is that He may bring other people under the Lordship of Christ by the powerful effectual working of His Spirit in our lives.
Our Father desires that we come short in no gift that will enable us to be as Jesus every day of our lives that we remain on earth. Is this obtainable? Of course it is or our Father would not ask it of us. He says, He has ask nothing of us that is to hard for us to do. He freely offers us the fullness of Himself to do it with. We struggle and worry about what we can't do. Instead of accepting what we can do by the power of His Spirit and doing it. God commands us to pursue love and desire all the Spiritual gifting that He has provide for us to live, love, look and act like Jesus.
1Corinthian14:1, 12:1-7. Even that we may do the greater works which Jesus assures us are ours to do, if we are believers. John 14:12. God's says be strong, ( in the power of My might Ephesians 6:10) bold and of good courage for I will be with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:8; Proverbs 28:1; Philippians 1:14; Ephesians 6:19.
May you be filled each day with the knowledge of God's will with all wisdom and spiritual understanding. And be wiser than the enemy, yet harmless as doves in your expression of His love. May the fullness of His Spirit continually fill your life.
Love and hugs
Sylvia :)

"God's holiness is not simply the best we know infinitely bettered. We know nothing like the divine holiness. It stands apart, unique, unapproachable, incomprehensible and unattainable. The natural man is blind to it. He may fear God's power and admire His wisdom, but His holiness he cannot even imagine." (A. W. Tozer)
