About Gina Zavalis
I am working on an album and want to share with you the first song, "In Your Eyes", written by myself and Nashville Producer Doug Beiden.

"In Your Eyes" is a prayer and a reflection of how lucky we are to be loved by a God who always holds us in His forgiving eyes. No matter how much we screw up, God will always see us through if we allow Him. I am in constant awe of how forgiving God is and how present He is when we choose to open up our hearts to Him. He is always forgiving, always loving and always accepting of who we are.

"What a voice...wow...that's about the best we heard all year!"
~Tom Seaver commenting on Gina singing the National Anthem at Yankee Stadium for the New York Yankees at a special televised event.

I've been singing for as long as I can remember. A native New Yorker, I started singing at the age of three and started singing professionally at the age of ten. In addition to studying voice privately, I continued my studies at Fordham University in New York City, where I earned a BA in Theatre with a concentration in Musical Theatre. Upon graduation, I continued to work as a Singer/Actress in many productions in New York City, Regional Theatre, National Tours as well as voiceovers and session work. Little did I know God had other plans for me.

When I became ill a few years ago, my hectic routine as a performer came to a halt and all that time on my hands made me evaluate my life. Prayer is powerful and has given me so much clarity and direction in my life, so I prayed - a lot! My faith in Jesus is everything to me. My body was healing and at the time I thought, if God could bring me out of an illness then He probably has plans for me here on earth. Through my life's events, God has led me here. It seems that whenever I attempt to turn around, God always leads me back to this. I figure I'd better pay attention and sing my heart out - for Him instead of for myself.

I encourage you to get quiet, listen closely and let go. We are not perfect, but we do have the ability to open our hearts and listen to what God has in store for us.

"The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me" - Psalm 138:8

Hey Gina,
How's everything coming with your new album?
I just had another song produced by Dwayne Larring (Petra, Sonicflood and Kelly Clarkson) recorded by an artist in California. We've got the west coast covered, now how about the east coast? LOL!
Be blessed.

Morning =) Got up made the coffee... flipped on the TV & I heard an evangelist I hadn't really listened to in years... I was kinda questioning him... he used this verse: Exodus 12:13" The blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you live; and when I see the blood I will pass over you, and no plague will befall you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt." I'm glad he used this passage, because as he said this is probably the single most important verse in the Bible.
Ya know it's not by our faith, our works or anything we've done... but that we are covered by His precious blood. Sorry didn't mean to be heavy, just loved that it's not up to me... but what HE did on the cross!!!
Have a blessed Sunday ...

"Jesus Placed the Highest Value on Relationships

Regarding life together and getting along with each other, you don't need me to tell you what to do. You're God-taught in these matters. Just love one another! 1 Thessalonians 4:9 (MSG)

*** *** *** ***

Today's guest devotional is from Tom Holladay, teaching pastor at Saddleback Church.

I don't remember the time or the place or the conference, but the question the moderator asked has stuck in my mind. What I recall most vividly is the answer that immediately flashed into my thoughts.

Here is the question: Suppose you're in a rubber life raft with a friend. You're approaching an island. The raft is leaking, and you are within sight of land. In the raft with you are a set of signal flares, a

week's supply of canned food, and a five gallon container of

water. You must throw one of these items overboard if you're

going to make it to the island. Which one do you choose?

I have to admit, the first answer that hit me was "the friend."

Now don't sit there with a pious "I've never thought anything like that" look! This silly thought that leaped into my mind was a reminder of how easy it is to value things over people. And who among us hasn't struggled with that feeling?

Priorities become most important when we must make choices. If we had enough time to do everything, everything could be a priority.

But we don't have enough time to do everything.

If we had the power to do every good thing we wanted to do, our choices wouldn't be so important. But we can't do every good thing we want to do.

When Jesus spoke about the priority of relationships, he could not have been clearer. He taught that relationships must be given the highest of values.

Hey there, Gina! :)

It seems like forever since our paths last crossed here, so I thought that I would stop by this evening and see how you've been doing...and to remind you once again what an awesome and beautiful blessing you are. :)

I pray that all is well with you and your family. All is well with Maria and I, just busy with (my) job, and "fun busy" as always at VCF, our church. When you get a chance, please do stop by my page, read through my rcene tblogs, and also check out some of my weather photos. :)

I do hope that SL gets their MP3 music player fixed soon so that I can start hearing some of your great-sounding music, and your beautiful voice, once again. :)

May our Lord continue to richly bless you and your family!

Much love from your brother in Jesus, and your friend always...Bob
