E. Moore is a former preschool teacher, publisher, novelist and children's author who began writing poetry and short stories in the first grade. Immediately, she realized she possessed a special gift to create anything imaginable.
In 2006, Moore released her first self published novel; In the Fire, the Beginning. She is most known for her digital creation of MYA, an African-American cartoon character designed to positively address social issues, teach children life skills and boost self-esteem.
In 2007, Moore wrote, illustrated and self-published the first five children books from The MYA Series. These titles include: When My Parents Argue, It Is Not Polite To Be A Bully, My Favorite Color Is, When I Am Sad and When I Believe. Moore's other published children's books include: Earning and Saving Money, When I Am Adopted, Fire Safety With Roy, When I Told A Lie, The Book of ABC's, The Book of Numbers, The Book of Shapes, I Can Be, Grandma's House and Mya Meets Barack Obama.
Moore also started "Authors Club, Exploring the Arts with E. Moore" in 2007, a program in conjunction with Tulsa Public Schools designed to help children express themselves through the art of drawing and writing. The 4 week program encourages children to embrace their resiliency by focusing on successfully achieving positive outcomes in the face of adversity.
Moore's effort to educate children was birthed due to the observed hardships and social issues children face today. Determined to make a difference, Moore started The MYA Foundation, a non-profit organization promoting literacy and providing learning resources for children. she is committed to help boost their self-esteem in any way she can. Her hope is that the children who read her children's books will be positively affected and that they will also understand the importance of reading.Moore is also Co-founder of The Movement, LLC with Tamiya D. Lewis. The Movement, LLC is a Publishing/Public Relations company in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
A member of Sanctuary Evangelistic Church(SEC) under the direction of Apostles Milford and Evelyn Carter, Moore resides in Tulsa, Oklahoma with her husband and four children. She has dedicated her life to educating and building the self-esteem of all people.
