I am an ordinary person whose life has been extraordinarily full and rich, a grand mix of tears, laughter and the grace of God. The gift of writing is just one of many opportunities he has given me to reflect his glory and to bring light into other people's lives. I've had a fun though laborious ride through four novels. A thread common to most of them is the cosmic struggle between good and evil in light of God's overarching work of redemption. I grew up in northern New Jersey in a context of music, horses, and a powerful imagination. A graduate of Wheaton College in Illinois, I continue to be actively involved in church life as a minister's wife, teacher, musician, writer, and encourager. My husband Jim and I have enjoyed a variety of experiences, from tree farming in Vermont (maple syrup anyone?) to building houses, all of which have helped bring color and humor to my fiction. My most recent book, The Stones: A Novel of the Life of King David, is the product of some 15 years of research. We live in Massachusetts, where Jim teaches philosophy. We also have traveled extensively and spend time with our three children and eight grandchildren.
