He cried out to the Lord, and the Lord showed him a tree. When he cast it into the waters, the waters were made sweet. Exodus 15:25
The children of Israel had not gone far from the shore of the Red Sea when the realities of their new freedom began to register. They no longer enjoyed the ample food and water supply of Egypt. Now, after traveling 3 days into the wilderness, the large crowd had no water. And when they finally arrived at the oasis of Marah, the water was bitter (Ex. 15:23).
Thus the children of Israel were compelled to rely on a miracle. So they cried out to Moses, and Moses cried out to the Lord. The Lord showed him a tree, which Moses cast into the water. Miraculously, the water turned sweet.
The transformation of the water was a miracle akin to the plague of blood sent to Pharaoh and the Egyptians (Ex. 7:14-25). Egypt's clean water had been sullied with blood by the hand of the Lord. The lesson of Marah was clear the same hand that turned water into blood could turn bitter water into sweet. The same power that brought curses on Egypt could bring health to Israel.
If you have a seemingly impossible need today, remember that the hand that supplied your greatest need forgiveness of sin is the same hand that can adequately supply all your needs. Trust Him to accomplish things that seem impossible.
When our problems overwhelm us,
God wants us to look to Him;
He provides the right solutions
Lighting paths that once were dim.
Impossibilities compel us to rely on God and God delights in knowing so.
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate,
our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child
of God. Your playing small does not serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other
people won't feel insecure around you. We were born to
make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously
give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear,
our presence automatically liberates others."

I have trusted in Your mercy I will sing to the Lord. (Psalm 13:5-6)
And since He bids me seek His face,
Believe His Word and trust His grace,
I'll cast on Him my every care,
And wait for thee, sweet hour of prayer.
Sometimes God doesn't grant our prayer requests right away. After a while we begin
to feel like the psalmist who said, "How long, O Lord? Will You forget me forever?"
(Psalm 13:1).
I remember feeling like that on one occasion when I had come to God, confessed my sin,
and asked for forgiveness and a renewed sense of joy. It seemed as if God's ears were
closed to my cry. Only after continuing to pray and wait for a long time did I regain
the joy that I had sought.
In John 11, we read that Mary and Martha called for Jesus to come because their brother
Lazarus was very sick (vv.1-44). The Lord delayed and Lazarus died. When Jesus finally
did come, however, He gave them a whole new appreciation of His love and power.
Why do you suppose God often delays His answers or denies our requests? I think the answer
is this: When God withholds His hand, He wants us to look to His heart. In other words, He
wants us to learn more about His goodness and His love, and to trust Him to do what is best.
If He's withholding an answer to a request that is very important to you, just be patient.
Keep asking and believing. He may want you to look at His heart and to gain a new appreciation
for His wisdom and love.
So when God withholds His hand, trust His heart.
Blessings,
Annette

I set my rainbow in the cloud and it shall be a sign of the covenant between me and the earth. Gen:9:13. God is a covenant keeping God and what He promises He will surely do. 1 Thessalonians 5:24. And all that He has promised in His word is yes and amen, through Christ, to those who believe doubting nothing. 2 Corinthians 1:20. Floods of destruction may sweep the planet but God forgives all of your sins, heals all of you diseases, redeems your life from destruction, crowns you with loving kindness and tender mercies, satisfies your mouth with good things and restores your youth like the eagles. Psalm 103:1-5. Wowwwwwwwwww! What a wonderful Father we have.

Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you . . . (John 14:27)
Are you severely troubled right now? Are you afraid and confused
by the waves and the turbulence God sovereignly allows to enter
your life? Have you left no stone of your faith unturned, yet
still not found any well of peace, joy, or comfort? Does your
life seem completely barren to you? Then look up and receive the
quiet contentment of the Lord Jesus. Reflecting His peace is proof
that you are right with God, because you are exhibiting the freedom
to turn your mind to Him. If you are not right with God, you can never
turn your mind anywhere but on yourself. Allowing anything to hide the
face of Jesus Christ from you either causes you to become troubled or
gives you a false sense of security.
We become troubled because we have not been taking Him into account.
When a person confers with Jesus Christ, the confusion stops, because
there is no confusion in Him. Lay everything out before Him, and when
you are faced with difficulty, bereavement, and sorrow, listen to Him say,
"Let not your heart be troubled" ( John 14:27 ).
"Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world." James 1:27
The best gift anyone can give to another is to pray for him or her. We live in a sinful world where bad things happen to people and people are tempted to sin. Praying for another person not only helps that person find God in the midst of trouble, but also helps us recognize the blessings that God gives us daily!
When there's anything you would like us to pray for, post a topic on our Prayer Team group, or send us a message. We would like to encourage you to pray for others. If you have any questions about Prayer, please let us know.
