Group? Actually I'm more of a hired gun these days. A "Bass Stylist" if you will.
Influences:
Not sure who I would call influences though I know who one listens to becomes an influence. So here's my list in no particular order: Jeff Scheetz, Bloodgood, Angelica, Stryper, Whitecross, Joe Satriani, Stu Hamm, Gary Hoey, Bride, Alter Bridge, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Queensryche, Scorpions, Guardian, Rush, Extreme, Barnabas, Barren Cross, Lanny Cordola, Rage of Angels, Tony MacAlpine, IC3 and more!
Sounds Like:
A unique blend of angelic voices and a cat fight.

After about 20 years of playing music, I still love it! The past two decades have brought me into contact with a ton of wonderful people and gave me the honor of being able to play with a number of exceptional musicians. And to top it all off, we've received testimony from people who were blessed, moved and came to know Jesus! We labor not in vain! The Lord is good in fulfilling His promise that His word won't return void.
I'm married to a wonderful woman, Tori. She is by far my better half. She has a great voice so we've been able to musically work together. She's also my photographer. What can I say? She's awesome! I'm a father of 2, a boy and a girl, and a grandfather of one. I'm not even 40 yet! God has blessed our family over and over again. I can't think of anything, or anywhere else I'd rather be.
I recently had the privilege of being interviewed on Recovery in Christ Ministries' pod cast. It was a lot of fun and a neat experience. If you would like to take a listen go to: TalkShoe Recovery in Christ Ministries

Silly Scientists, Lungs Aren't For Frogs
4/13/2008 - 12:36 PM
I read an article on CNN today about the discovery of a lungless frog. That's right. A species of frog that doesn't have any lungs. Oxygen is absorbed through the skin. They say that the frog got rid of its lungs (due to an evolutionary process) ...

Hello Derek,,
It is wonderful to meetyou here. Actually, I ran from my pastoral calling probably for about 12 to 15 years. It was from a bad past having been hurt by pastors when I was growing up in Indiana and didn't know anything about what legalism is, I just thought you always had to have your perverbial boxing gloves on to goto church! No kidding. at 8 years old, my first ever church experience was a major church split, then the pastor of that same church told me as a little boy that it was ok to disobey my mother since it was for a church function and since our pastor felt he spoke for God, then he was always absolutely right and so that superseded my mothers authority. Hahaha! BOY! I tell you what, when I told my mother that, she was fummed toi say the least. Oh! She didn't sayt another word to me, but she got up, packed me and my sister in the family car and drove down to that church and her and that pastor had words!
So my past experiences with pastors is a little fouled up! Why, we even went to this one church where the pastor of that church preached that everybody else was going to HELL but us. If you didn't become a member of OUR church you were doomed! Then he would preach out of context that if I don't get water baptized i was doomed to hell. I mean we never entended too but always kept getting weird pastors that preached even weirder or just out right seemed like they preached for the other side in some cases if ya know what i mean. So naturally as a teenager I pretty much had had my fill of pastors and those legalistic terrible back biters who call themselves the church of Christ. It took God SO LONG, Many years to reach me and prove to me that He was not like that at all and what He had called me to was no where close to that. Pheww!!! I am so glad He cleared that one up. I hated pastors for so long, but now, I love them and God healed my heart. My family, well different story there, they are all still hurt and sort of wondering if I have a screw loose wanting to become another one of THOSE guys. Hehe, Ah I still have the hope God can heal them too. One Pastor even came out and told me dad that because he smoked cigerettes he was not a God-like enough man to do anything more physically for the church. That really got my father torqued and he never did go back to church.
Now here i am becoming one! I must either be crazy or really listening to God. What do ya think?
