Denise was born in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. Music and ministry have been at the forefront of her life beginning at the early age of eight when she began studying the piano. Her first public appearance was in the fifth grade at the invitation of her choral teacher to sing at a nearby church. By age thirteen, she was the pianist at her local church, maintaining the position for 33 years, where she also shared as Minister of Music over a span of time.
With a rich musical heritage, she is a cousin to Virginia Hensley, the late, Legendary "Patsy Cline." She is also part of a very gifted family of singers and musicians. Denise evolved naturally into singing, performing and song writing. As a teenager, she toured with her family sharing the Gospel through word and song. Professionally recording by age fourteen, she has been a professional studio pianist, and has 22 years of sharing her music ministry on several television stations, including the Pax Network and Gospel Music Television. Denise has spent hundreds of hours in the editing suite while producing TV ministry programming.
Denise is the mother of two grown sons, a beautiful granddaughter, and is married to her long-time recording Producer, Arranger, Composer, Jazz Pianist, Three Time Grammy Nominee and Dove Award Winner. . . Dr. C. Otis Forrest. With 41 years experience in the music industry, he has played on over 200 of the Gaither Homecoming Video soundtracks. He appeared in numerous Homecoming videos, and arranged and conducted the orchestra for the Grammy Award-winning video, "Kennedy Center Homecoming." Otis was voted Southern Gospel Music Association Producer of the Year in 2002. He has played on and/or produced over 3000 gospel recordings.
Denise is available for churches, concerts, women's ministry groups, cruises, conferences, special events, and various other venues. In addition, she and Otis enjoy sharing their ministry of music together in concerts.
