I'm writing this from the heart and to give the reader more of a candid view of some of the hardships that I have endured and the some of the things that I have overcome in my life. This is to give the reader a hope that no matter what they've been through, there is always a bright hope in the Lord Jesus Christ, even if we can't see Him in our current tribulations.

Throughout the 1980's and early 90's I was a very successful businessman. I had everything this "world" could offer. But suddenly my world turns tragic. My Grandmother, whom I was extremely close with, passed away. In my case I didn't know how to mourn her passing or perhaps I was in denial, so I buried myself in my work to the extent that I became a workaholic and as a result during the course of five years and five attempts at working I had four nervous breakdowns to the point of being totally helpless.

Not only was this a difficult transition going from working full-time to being on disability, but also on a social level. The stigma's attached with disabilities are extremely bad, but the one's attached to disabilities that cannot be seen are clearly worse.

I've even not seen my seventeen year old son, since he was a year old.

But as the Bible states, PSALMS 89:33 Nevertheless My lovingkindness I will not utterly take from him, Nor allow My faithfulness to fail. Or remember Job in the Bible and Joseph they both had great tribulations and they were far better men then me.

It's only by the Lord's grace and mercy that I'm even here to write this along with such people that He place in my path to help me such as my family and my home church Pastor.

In 1993 I was dealing with so much anguish, due to the absence of my son I started to write poetry, but I wrote in a manner that no one could ever know exactly what I was feeling at the time, because I was hurting too deeply. After almost a couple of years of writing I became published with my first poetry book entitled "Crossroads of Seasons". Once I realized that God had given me a gift for writing, I wrote a short fiction novel in honor of my Grandmother, entitled "A Regal Heart", which was also published. Recently I've written a more "Thankful & Praiseworthy" version of poetry entitled "Lightning Strikes, Love Ignites" and also a Short Christian Drama entitled "Banned". God has already given me the best gift He could give me and that is the sense of self worth that I can still do something worthwhile, something that I enjoy and even if one of my poems touches one life then I've accomplished something.

Everyone has God given gifts and talents and I really believe that even during the pruning process and tribulations God can use those to His Glory, so please always believe in yourself also. Keep your dreams alive and keep them in prayer and go for it!

Always remember no matter what you are going through, you are not alone! We serve a compassionate Savior in the Lord Jesus Christ and He understands and He is your help.
