About Crimson River
In early 1997, Scott Callihan was the music director at Hampton Church of God. The Lord placed a vision or a call upon Scott to start a gospel group. Although Scott had played music pretty much his entire life, with his family's band, he had never had a desire to sing, and in fact did not even know harmony. But the one thing Scott did know was the voice of the Lord, and the word of God says that "Obedience is better than sacrifice." Crimson River was formed out of obedience to the call of the Lord.

Since November 1997 Crimson River has been about the Father's business. We have seen many changes in our lives, and also the miracle of God's saving grace in others as well. There have been a few difficult times over the years, but all in all, it has been a privilege, and an honor to stand on stage and tell others the "good news" of Jesus Christ.

The group now consists of Scott Callihan, who sings lead and is the founder of the group; Betty Ann Guild, who sings the tenor, and is an original member and co-founder; Butch Chesser, who sings the baritone and has been with the group since July 2001; and John Stephens, who sings the bass and has been with the group since May 2005. Although these are the singers of the group, we could not do what we do without the support of our loving spouses, Stacey Callihan, Mark Guild, Frances Chesser, and Leslie Stephens, all of which are a vital part of Crimson River.

Crimson River's mission is what it has been since the beginning, and that is to use the talents that God has given us, through the anointing of the Holy Spirit; to do exactly what the Lord has called us to do according to His purpose, and that is to spread the "Good News" of Jesus Christ through song. We are careful to give God the praise, honor, and glory for all that He is doing in our lives and in this ministry.

Even in our personal lives, we strive to live each day according to God's perfect will, while pressing toward the high mark.
