Cat's Article/Press Release Clips (2008)
A quick tiptoe through the tulips. A dance with the daffodils. Or maybe it's just daffy all round. Here are some highlights from Cat's freelance forays in local and regional newspapers.
Cat is the media release writer for her regional Arts Council; several media releases are included as well.
(Never mind the "buy online" thing. Just click below to go to the blog where the clips are hosted.)

Homeschooling Today (2008)
Cat is a freelance copy editor for Homeschooling Today magazine, including line editing, proofreading and substantive editing. It's a great team to work with and a solid homeschooling resource. The best part is getting to pre-read the articles.

Easy Homeschooling Techniques - General Edition by Lorraine Curry (2006)
Cat is a contributing author and consulting editor to Lorraine Curry's "Easy Homeschooling" secular edition. Cat authored a chapter on weaving critical thinking skills into everyday life and a section on how non-musicians can incorporate music into their homeschooling experience, with 12-year curriculum guide. Lorraine's book is a comprehensive confidence-builder for homeschoolers at all stages of the journey.

Rivers Banner (2004)
Cat freelances in the odd genre of gardening humour for the local paper, "Rivers Banner." Look for her there, but don't be disappointed if her byline doesn't show up--sometimes it's hidden behind the "media release" mask on behalf of local non-profits.

I write from the Canadian prairies - SF, contemporary romance, homeschooling articles, gardening humour. I homeschool four wild (but not uncultivated) children. We do family music together - bluegrass, classical, and traditional four-part hymns. We do a lot of things together.
However, I don't have time to log in here much. So here's the latest notes:

Yes, I'm actually using exclamation marks.
For years, Dave and I have talked about starting up a Bible conference in our area. There are a lot of reasons for this idea.

This post from Kristen Collier is probably the smartest, simplest thing I've heard in about a year.
I decided to give this a try, and already I'm finding interesting things. I just kind of opened my Bible somewhere in the middle and started readin...

I finally got around to recording a vocal track for that wordless song in the Box. It's a song I wrote after visiting my brother and his then-fiancee and their son in Quebec. Both were doing post-grad work at the time, living in one of those many, ma...

I'm starting in Sept.
The Bd of Ed has not responded to my letter of intent, even though I sent it return request receipt. I'm getting a little nervous.
I'm not skipping the summer either. Our calendar school year starts July 1, so I can include all the summer activities as phys ed, etc.

How's the homeschooling going? Are you homeschooling through the summer, or taking a break.
I'm going to start in Sept.

Hey, Cathi...thanks so much for coming by to read the blogs and comment. We actually have ten cars...yep...ten, and none of them run. My Mazda MPV van has a new transmission Miles installed and an engine is installed but now connected to anything yet...then there is a Jeep, which also has a newer engine just installed but not connected, and it needs new tires and upholstery...then there is a Saab which was given to us, when Miles' Uncle died, which Miles has spent hours working on, but has never gotten it to run yet, either. He also has a 'shell' of a Spitfire, in the basement..it has an engine, but no seats, or tires, etc. There is a Toyota which needs a fuel pump, and this is the car I am going to fix for myself. It has AC so I can take mother to the Dr....in the South U.S. ...you HAVE to have AC. The old Mazda truck, the Saturn and the Mitsubishi...then there is my mother's car which needs work, also...we need to find out what is wrong with it, as it has sat in the yard for over two years, now.
Our yard looks like a used car lot.
Tell Dave and your son to come on down and help us!
My husband is a good mechanic, but just does not have time to work on anything.
Thanks again for stopping by...always good to hear from you!

Hey, Cathi, I have a new (second) page I am in process of building and invited you to join me there...it is "UNIVERSE".
I thought you would enjoy it...it is rather unconventional.
I also invited your husband, but I noticed he has not been active on his page since February?
Have a blesesd Easter!
Love you so much!
Sooze
