Dread Champion (2003)
Chelsea Adams series #2

Chelsea Adams has visions.

But they have no place in a courtroom.

As a juror for a murder trial, Chelsea must rely only on the evidence. And this circumstantial evidence is strong--Darren Welk killed his wife.

Or did he?

The trial is a nightmare for Chelsea. The other jurors belittle her Christian faith. As testimony unfolds, truth and secrets blur. Chelsea's visiting niece stumbles into peril surrounding the case, and Chelsea cannot protect her. God sends visions--frightening, vivid. But what do they mean? Even as Chelsea finds out, what can she do? She is helpless, and danger is closing in...

Masterfully crafted, Dread Champion is a novel in which appearances can deceive and the unknown can transform the meaning of known facts. One man's guilt or innocence is just a single link in a chain of hidden evil...and God uses the unlikeliest of people to accomplish His purposes.

ABOUT ME:

I write my trademarked "Seatbelt Suspense" for Zondervan, the Christian division of HarperCollins. Which means I mostly sit at my computer, typing and talking to myself. Or kicking cabinets when the writing gets tough--which is most of the time. I don't get out much. When I do venture out of my cave (such as teaching at writers' conferences), I'll try to warn you first.

I blog at Forensics and Faith. At F&F we discuss the craft of writing fiction, the Christian fiction industry, and the Christian journey. Feel free to search the blog's linked archives for lessons on writing fiction. If you are disheartened in your journey to being published--I've been there! Please read the story on F&F of my own road to publication in fiction ("How I Got Here"). It's there to encourage you--and suspensefully entertain.

Happy New Year!

We all make New Year resolutions. But generally, within a few weeks they have all become casualties of our busy schedules, inconsistency or just plain 'ol lack of will power. So in light of this a most common pitfall, we thought we would ask our Shoutlife friends to ponder and answer the following question...

What is the smallest change with the greatest impact you can now make to bring you closer to a personal goal or just simply much needed change at home, at work or in life?
