Lauraine Snelling was one of my first mentors. She encouraged me to write my first book and I did--The Journey of Eleven Moons, which became a CBA bestseller.
When most kids in my high school lit class were groaning because we had to read The Hobbit I was enthralled by the story. And when I read the book Hawaii by James Michener I never wanted it to end. I've been hooked on fiction all my life.

There was a time when I used the expression, "God would have to hit me with a truck to get my attention."
These days I NEVER say that. In 1991 I did get hit with a truck, a log truck. It changed my life.
I wasn't able to work or do the things I loved. I couldn't take care of my family--they took care of me. I really hated that. But God had a plan. I prayed and asked Him to give me something to do that mattered.
He did. He gave me writing. In 1995 my first novel released and I've written sixteen since then.
I love to write and always have a new story or stories percolating in my brain. :-)
I've been married to the same terrific guy for 38 years. We met when I was just 17. I was immediately smitten. He was such a hunk. Still is. :-)
My husband's support has made it possible for me to write. He caught the vision right off and although we've had some tough patches he's remained a cheerleader for me.
One of our favorite things to do is to go on research trips together. He takes good care of me and hauls all our stuff in and out of hotels and makes sure to get my bed comfy for me, including an egg crate and my heating pad. Can't wait for our next trip.
