My love language is words of affirmation. My motivational gift is encouragement. My personality is fun-loving and sensative--if you've ever taken the DISC test, that would make me an IS. If you haven't taken the DISC test, it basically just means that I'm emotional.

I love Air 1 (I talked to D.J.s Eric and Copalia on the phone today), but I'm ready for something new. Any recommendations?
|
|
If it has a pink cover, I'll read it. I used to love mystery, but I just can't seem to get through one anymore. I want a book that will make me laugh and make me cry. (I told you I'm emotional.)
Most recently I discovered Tamara Leigh. I took SPLITTING HARRIET with me to pick up the kids at school, to the gym, to my daughter's ballet class, etc... Someday I hope my writing will be just as unputdownable.

I'm a 30-year-old married mother of three--which gives me lots of inspiration, but not much time to write. I was first nationally published in high school and went on to study journalism at the University of Oregon. I'm a contributing writer to Treasure Valley Christian News and have worked as editor for a teen mom's newsletter.
Recently I've sold articles to Encounter, Brio, Hopscotch, and an anthology titled "Summer Shorts". I've written a middle grade novel based on that short story titled "The Water Fight Professional" which will be coming out in 2010! I also have a picture book under consideration. My women's fiction manuscript "Fake Blonde" is being represented by Hartline Literary and I've been getting good feedback, but no sale yet. And I just finished my chick lit "Lighten Up". Come on over and visit me at my blog http://angela-lightenup.blogspot.com
Besides writing, my favorite things to do are watch my kids bellyflop at swimming lessons, watch movies with my hubby (though we can never agree on our favorites), and scrapbook with friends. I also work as an aerobics instructor. My husband and I are very involved in FOCUS and UPWARD--ministries that have changed our lives.

A CONSTANT HEART by Siri Mitchell is unexpected, haunting, and powerful. Below, Siri shares the insights and inspiration that gave her the idea to write about the Elizabethan period.
It's definitely worth the read, and you can win a copy of the ...

My husband and I spend our computer time very differently. He enjoys watching stuff like this. Well actually, so do I. But then I get back to writing. After all, these guys are creative and inspirational. Enjoy!

Author Interview: Tina Ann Forkner
|
5/26/2008 - 5:31 PM
|

Tina Ann Forkner's debut novel Ruby Among Us is a powerful and introspective read. As I told Tina, it took me a while to get into it because it had me crying on the first few pages, and I usually prefer sassy stories with a pink cover. I'm so glad ...

Thank you for your interest, Angela! I'd be interested in your opinion of my novel excerpt -- and there is quite a bit of information about Mormonism on my Web site-- www.latayne.com. Bless you too. Yours and His, Latayne

Hi, sweet Angela!
I've been meaning to tell you your new profile pic is adorable. Of course, any pic you'd post would be cute!
Are you having a busy Saturday? Mine will be filled with lots of running around and tons of at-home errands.
Hugs and Blessings,

I just read your question about Beth's Amish book ... she wrote for twenty years of rejections, then sat down at a really hard time in her life and wrote the Amish story when her agent asked her to try something different. Within weeks of finishing the first three chapters, Thomas Nelson offered a contract and wanted pitches for two more books. :-) It is enough to make you jealous, huh? ;-)

I don't think Windstorm does short fiction, but you could check out their website. They're restructuring their company and changing their name soon. I'm not actually with them anymore. They're okay and all, but I'll be looking for a different publisher for my second book...

Oh, whew. I wasn't thinking local. I was thinking something on-line with ACFW, and I was certain I hadn't opted in for on-line teaching. Yes, you are on my calendar for the conference. Excuse the fuzzy head. This bug is getting really old. I hope I'm better soon too.

Oh, Well, since Gods ways and thoughts are
higher than ours we'll have to ask him
what he thinks about it: There's such
power in prayer and
Sometimes though people say no
God says yes, and they change their mind.
God has shown me that to be true.
So be encouraged my friend!

Hi, Angela. So glad you like the cover for A Vote of Confidence. I think it is my favorite cover ever (of my books), and I've had some wonderful ones.
Hmm. What am I teaching in January and where? I'm drawing a blank. Can't remember signing up for anything but I've been sick for a week now.

Hi Angela,
Tee Hee!That's funny! You could say, I'm a bit challenged in that area Tee Hee! But not that time, it was just meant to be funny. I'll have to try again tomorrow to see the interview with your husband.
I'm working on a childrens fiction book right now, though it is based on a true story, I'm very excited about it but
its been a long day so i'm hitting the hay.Have a blessed rest.

Yes, I am. Tee Hee! It's my sense of
humor, which is sometimes dry and which is hard to see through emails, "My motto is, "Life is too short to be too serious." I had enough of that. But seriously, the movie was great, so you need to go and see it!
Let us run the race that is set before us, with patience, looking unto JESUS,
