Write About Jesus is a complete resource for Christian songwriters.
Our mission is to equip and inspire the Christian songwriting community.
Write About Jesus is the creation and passion of three-time Dove Award-winning songwriter Sue Smith. A staff writer for Brentwood-Benson Music Publishing, Sue is the writer of six number one songs and has had cuts by Avalon ("Everything To Me"), Brian Littrell, Travis Cottrell, Larnelle Harris, Joy Williams, The Crabb Family, Ernie Haase and Signature Sound, and many others. Sue won the Dove Award for Inspirational Recorded Song of the Year in 2004 ("Everything To Me"). In 2007, she won two more Doves, one for Musical of the Year ("Everything Glorious") and one for Childrens/Youth Musical of the Year ("A King Is Coming To Town").
Attention Christian Songwriters:
Mark your calendars for TWO dates in 2008:
March 29, 2008 - We're having our first workshop in Nashville, TN!
Write About Jesus is partnering with
Music For the Soul to host a one-day event on March 29, 2008, at Hendersonville Community Church, just north of Nashville.
Our regular Write About Jesus clinicians will be teaching classes all day... seven sessions... with plenty of choices for each session, plus the chance to network with clinicians and other registrants at meals. Our clinicians for this event will include Sue Smith, Gina Boe, Maurice Carter, Dave Clark, Dennis Dearing, Marty Funderburk, Wayne Haun, Simon Hawkins, Daniel Kirkley, Joel Lindsey, David Moffitt, Don Poythress, Rick Shelton, Steve Siler, Belinda Smith, Kevin Stokes, James Tealey, Tony Wood, Guy Zabka and Holly Zabka
Saturday evening we'll host three country writers in the round and then enjoy a concert by two special guests... artist-writer Kyle Mathews and artist-writer Scott Krippayne.
The day will have all the warmth and fun of our regular three-day event which is held in October each year. But it'll just be for one day in the home of country music.
October 16-18, 2008 - Our annual workshop in St. Charles, Missouri
This workshop begins on Thursday evening and ends on Saturday evening. It's not only jam-packed with great sessions, but it's a great chance to talk one-on-one with writers, producers, publishers and others who are "doing it every day" in the industry. The clinicians eat each meal with the registrants, and there is plenty of time to get to know both clinicians and registrants.
One long-time registrant said, "These are MY people" after her first year at Write About Jesus.
