Lauraine Snelling, Lori Copeland, Tracie Peterson, DiAnn Mills. I write as though the "Old" West is young, not as though you are reliving it, but as one who is seeing it for the first time.
I have lived in twenty-seven places in nine states (so far), and have been constantly awed by the diversity of God's creation.
I've canoed through gator-infested Everglades, turned loose hundreds of baby sea turtles on a beach in Florida, hiked the Grand Canyon (twice - once wasn't punishment enough ), horsebacked across Arizona, toured Civil War battlefields and antebellum homes, and survived a major earthquake.
I write and am Mom to two sons, one daughter, a rescued American Eskimo dog, a green dwarf parrot and several goldfish. The children I homeschooled for three years, and still do when they need a bit of extra help. The dog I taught to sit. She also barks at parked cars.
In 2006 I published two series of devotions in an inspirational collection for missionary wives. Having learned a love of horses and mountains over the years, I now write Western romance. My first book, which won second place in the Golden Rose Contest 2006 Inspirational romance category, is being submitted to publishers by a literary agent I feel truly blessed to work with.
I am a freelance manuscript editor for both published and aspiring authors in a variety of fiction and nonfiction lengths and genres, and am a contributing member of The Christian PEN. JESUS IS ALWAYS NEAR BY TO RESCUE YOU WHEN YOU FALL
Hello!!! How are you today? Are you hungry for more success in you walk with Jesus? It is Jesus desire that you be a fully functional and successful bold ambassador in the kingdom of God. Philemon 1:8-9; Ephesians 6:20. Just as successful as He was in becoming your Savior.
After feeding more than five thousand people by multiplying five small loaves of bread and two little fish Jesus commanded His disciples to get into a boat and go to the other side of the lake. (Sea of Galilee a freshwater lake). And after He sent this great multitude away, He Himself went up into the mountain to pray. Time past and evening fell as Jesus communed with His beloved Father. And the disciples found themselves in the middle of the lake tossed about by huge waves stirred up by a great opposing wind which battered them about and caused them to fear for their lives.. By the time Jesus had finished His prayer time with the Father it was the wee hours of the morning. (Between 3 AM and 6 AM) Having sent the disciples on ahead He set out walking across the sea to where they were. However, when they observed Him coming toward them walking on the water they were even more terrified than before. Now they had what they supposed was a ghost coming for them! And Jesus would have passed them by except in their fear they cried out. Mark 6: 48 ( Remember Jesus told them to go to the other side. He never told them to stop in the middle of the lake and fear any storm that stood in their way of obeying His command. He was going to meet them on the other side.) When Jesus heard their cries of terror immediately He stopped and talked with them saying," Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid. Peter responded Lord if that is really you COMMAND me come to you on the water. Jesus simple response was COME! Peter climbed down out of that wind and wave tossed boat in a great surge of instance faith, which enabled Him to walk to Jesus. Having taken His eyes off the wind and walking on the water to Jesus and having solved the ghost problem, Peter once again turned his attention to the boisterous winds that still raged about them. And he was once again overcome by fear and doubt, which immediately caused him to start to sink beneath the turbulent water. In his desperation Peter cried out to Jesus to save Him. And as Jesus stretched out His hand to save Peter He also said, O you of little faith, why did you doubt!!!
Notice Jesus COMMANDED His disciple to get into that boat and GO TO THE OTHER SIDE of the lake. Well, Jesus was fully aware of what they would find in the middle of the lake. Remember what Jesus commands of us He enables us to do by faith. No matter how big the storm is that stands between us and our destination. If He commands it of you, you are able to do it. He ask nothing, absolutely nothing of us that we cannot, by the power of His Spirit through obedience, accomplish. We are just as much His disciples as this group of frightened men were. And just as He command them to do, we are also commanded to do what He says fearlessly by faith without one smidgen of doubt. Just before these men set out on their voyage to cross the Sea of Galilee, which was their commanded destination. They had watched Jesus demonstrate to them that He alone was their sufficiency in life, by multiplying the five loaves of bread and the two fish. He alone was their, and now is our, abundantly sufficient bread of life. Whatever our need, it is found in Him. He demonstrated who He was to these disciples and immediately sent them out to face the raging wind and waves that stood between them and their destination. And when they failed to do that He made it clear to them (and us )that it was because of their small doubting faith. It is undoubting faith that we are to apply to every circumstance of life. Jesus is there to caught us when we fall and cry out to Him. Just as He was with Peter. But, oh have much better for us, and how He rejoices when by faith we determine to walk through the storms of life right into all the promises of His grace.
My prayer for you today, is to believe that God is real with all your heart, mind, soul and strength. To put ALL your trust into His Son which is the word. And to call upon the Holy Ghost to keep you on the strait and narrow to Life eternal and all truth. That you would have a personal relationship with our Father in heaven and live your life fully for His will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Jesus told us that I and my Father are one. Believe on Him, turn from your ownway and follow the only way, truth and life forever more.
1 John 5:7 ~ For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. KJV
Luke 4:8 ~ Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. KJV
I know, that's what a lot of people tell me...that are a LOT younger than me. We have found that at 65 and 70 years old our balance & reactions are not as good as they were in our 30s and 40s. Finally found a wonderful home for Tessa and they will pick her up on the 15th...our prayers are answered. Hugs back to you, too, Tammy. Sandy
Hi Tammy, You can read about it in my blog written 7/11/07. I got a bad concussion & lost my memory for a full 1/2 hr and it hasn't come back (for that 1/2 hr.) Drs. said no more riding for the summer as couldn't risk another head injury. Now, all I experience is a bit of short term memory loss, but I'm find. Thanks for asking, Tammy.
Sandy
Thanks for your nice note, Tammy..it's good to hear from you. As you know, after my horse accident this summer, we leased out Zanzibar & have Tessa for sale. Hopefully, we will be able to sell her soon. This breaks my heart, of course, but that was quite a scare & warning of what might have happened. Landing directly on my head & getting a bad concussion was enough for this old lady. concentrating now on our kitty family which we rescued this summer (God's distraction for an otherwise very disappointing summer). We kept Mama Mitsy & son Owey, and they are a wonderful addition to our little family. How are you doing now? Did you move, etc.? We went to see Tessa yesterday; she needed her shedding hair brushed. So next time I see her, I'll hug her for you. God bless & keep you safe.
Sandy
Hi Tammy...long time no hear. How are you doing lately? Have things changed for the better? I sure hope so. We are doing fine and just waiting patiently for SPRING! Hope you are doing well.
Blessings,
Sandy

Psa 37:1 ¶ [[[A Psalm] of David.]] Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.Psa 37:2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb. Psa 37:3 Trust in the LORD, and do good; [so] shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. Psa 37:4 Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Psa 37:5 Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring [it] to pass. Psa 37:6 And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday. Psa 37:7 Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass. Psa 37:8 Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil. Psa 37:9 For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth.Psa 37:10 For yet a little while, and the wicked [shall] not [be]: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it [shall] not [be]. Psa 37:11 But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace. Psa 37:12 The wicked plotteth against the just, and gnasheth upon him with his teeth. Psa 37:13 The Lord shall laugh at him: for he seeth that his day is coming. Psa 37:14 The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, [and] to slay such as be of upright conversation. Psa 37:15 Their sword shall enter into their own heart, and their bows shall be broken. Psa 37:16 A little that a righteous man hath [is] better than the riches of many wicked. Psa 37:17 For the arms of the wicked shall be broken: but the LORD upholdeth the righteous. Psa 37:18 The LORD knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be for ever. Psa 37:19 They shall not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied. Psa 37:20 But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the LORD [shall be] as the fat of lambs: they shall consume; into smoke shall they consume away. Psa 37:21 The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again: but the righteous sheweth mercy, and giveth. Psa 37:22 For [such as be] blessed of him shall inherit the earth; and [they that be] cursed of him shall be cut off. Psa 37:23 The steps of a [good] man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way. Psa 37:24 Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth [him with] his hand. Psa 37:25 I have been young, and [now] am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread. Psa 37:26 [He is] ever merciful, and lendeth; and his seed [is] blessed. Psa 37:27 Depart from evil, and do good; and dwell for evermore. Psa 37:28 For the LORD loveth judgment, and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off. Psa 37:29 The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell therein for ever. Psa 37:30 The mouth of the righteous speaketh wisdom, and his tongue talketh of judgment. Psa 37:31 The law of his God [is] in his heart; none of his steps shall slide. Psa 37:32 The wicked watcheth the righteous, and seeketh to slay him. Psa 37:33 The LORD will not leave him in his hand, nor condemn him when he is judged Psa 37:34 Wait on the LORD, and keep his way, and he shall exalt thee to inherit the land: when the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see [it]. Psa 37:35 I have seen the wicked in great power, and spreading himself like a green bay tree. Psa 37:36 Yet he passed away, and, lo, he [was] not: yea, I sought him, but he could not be found. Psa 37:37 Mark the perfect [man], and behold the upright: for the end of [that] man [is] peace. Psa 37:38 But the transgressors shall be destroyed together: the end of the wicked shall be cut off. Psa 37:39 But the salvation of the righteous [is] of the LORD: [he is] their strength in the time of trouble. Psa 37:40 And the LORD shall help them, and deliver them: he shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in him.
