Few people can walk through what these two have walked through and come out alive on the other side", says DESTINY NOW president Bret Walton.
Their story is a testimony of how far God is willing to reach to recover what is His. It begins with both Harvey and Lisa pursuing their dreams and careers. While Lisa began singing in nightclubs, Harvey was busy playing drums for Country Music Star Aaron Tippin. Their lives and careers put them into the same cirlces as such people as The Marshall Tucker Band, Lynard Skynard, Leon Everette, and countless others.
Drug and alcohol addiction, a flipped car, and scrapes with the law were only the beginning of a downward spiral that ended with a face to face meeting with God Almighty. It was the turning point that brought them back from the edge.
This next chapter of their lives is full of hope and marks a new direction for Harvey and Lisa Swanson. Their journey continues with a brand new project, TAKE UP THE CROSS. I don't know how familiar you are with the Messianic movement, but it has become an amazing thing to behold, as Jews from all over the world have come to a saving relationship with Yeshua Hamashiah (Jesus, the Messiah). Hillel Tokazier is a Jewish singer and songwriter from Finland, who draws on his roots in the synagogue, and then adds elements of jazz, blues, rock, and even gospel. The result is what I consider a totally delightful musical and spiritual experience. All of his songs are in Hebrew, yet I have enjoyed listening to them over and over. MY GOD IS A GOD OF MIRACLES
I have sung songs of all kind ever since I learned to talk.
Never have I been very confident in speaking.
I have to admit that the Lords Holy Spirit has spoke to many through me while ministering in song, and I am thankful.
My love is all for Jesus, and I am thankful that everyday I am learning and falling deeper in love with Him every day.
It still takes my breath away to think back at all the times God intervened in my life, even before I gave myself to Him. He saw me as what I could be and saved my life many times.
I have had several people tell me that God does not perform miracles anymore {including my pastor}. I always thought with out speaking out loud,"You must not know the Jesus I know". I was always afraid to speak up.
1Co 12:28 In the church God has appointed first apostles, next prophets, third teachers, then those who perform miracles, then those who have the gift of healing, then those who help others, those who are managers, and those who can speak in a number of languages.
My first memory of my own experience of the love and precious mercy of Jesus was when I was five years old. "I won't get into details here - I'll write it in my blog because it is so important for ALL PEOPLE to know NOW what Jesus has done in my life and the lives of others around me.
So please take a moment to read my blog today.
