Welcome to my profile. I am starting this page as a ministry to encourage and inspire others. It will also serve as an outlet for my writing.
My Testimony:
I lost my husband a little over 7 years ago in the terrorist attack on the USS Cole in the port of Aden, Yemen. I have been raising boys on my own, and I know I could not have come as far as I have without God in my life.
I gave my life to Christ at the age of 5. Though I continued in church all my life, one day I woke up and realized my relationship with God was not where it should be. In the summer of 1998, I rededicated my life to God.
In 2006, I finally returned to college. That is on hold once again, but when God opens the right doors, I will earn my degree in communications - TV/Film.
Who Am I? Well... since I often tend to relate my life to words from a song... I leave you with the words that describe me best...
"No More No Less" by Mercy Me
I'm not trying to hide anything
I wear it on my sleeve
I wear it on my sleeve
I'm not trying to be something I'm not
This is all I've got
This is all I've got
I'm not trying to re-invent the wheel
Just trying to be real
Trying to be real
I'm not trying to say follow me
I'm not the one who leads
I'm not the one who leads
Let me introduce myself to you
This is who I am
No more, no less
I am just a (woman)who understands
Because of You I'm blessed
No more, no less
I'm not trying to prove anything
It's all about the change
It's all about the change
I hope you stare just long enough to see
The heart that's beating here inside of me
Beyond all the things you may think you know
I'm just a kid trying to make it home, that's it
No more, no less
Lord, I want to go home
Nothing more, nothing less
Delerious? - History Maker
Interesting as I read the title of this song. Rich became a history maker and left this world in the arms of Jesus. I want to share this video because we had gone to Kings Fest that summer before Rich died. (2000) Delerious was a band that I had not yet seen in concert, and I was so looking forward to it. There's a long story that I won't share here... but Rich and Dillon ended up watching Delerious without me... and it was exactly what God had intended. You see, without me there, he felt completely uninhibited. Dillon later told me that they were jumping up and down! LOL When they walked towards me, Rich said... "Why didn't you ever have me listen to THEM before!" (I had been trying to get him to my Christian music.) I replied.."I did!" LOL That summer was a very important part of God pulling Rich closer to him.
