Music is the tool The Gospel is the message! Revived Ministries is the vision God has given to me to use my talent in service to Him. With an ambitious vision to use music to build a ministry that does so much more, my prayer is to see lives changed and my community impacted by what God can do.
I believe the mission field can be as close as the front door and we as Christians just need to be willing to walk out and find those that need to hear the good news. Revived Ministries is committed to not only performing and recording music that glorifies God, but also seeking every opportunity to show the Love of Christ.
With over twenty-five years of performing and recording James career has spanned everything from folk music and bluegrass to heavy metal and he strives to bring a bit of everything hes learned into his original Christian music. The result is an interesting mix of styles that incorporates a strong acoustic presence while at the same time tastefully applying electric guitar and keys to complement and fill out the sound. While presently focusing on acoustic guitar James originally started out playing bass, an instrument he still passionately pursues, and enjoys the chance to write and record bass parts for his music.
Growing up in Florida James got his first guitar around age 9, but it would be several years later while living in Virginia that he would develop his passion for playing. It was there on the edge of the Shenandoah Valley he could be found on Saturday nights playing bluegrass and folk music in the back of the old country store. After being saved on Easter Sunday in 1987, James turned his attention to using music for God and was a founding member, bass player and lead vocalist for a Christian rock group named Judea. The group ministered to youth extensively throughout North and South Carolina and recorded one CD entitled Land of the King for which James authored the majority of the material.
James is also a worship leader at First Christian Church and Academy in Kernersville, NC and is working on the first release for Revived from his home studio. James lives in Winston-Salem, NC with his wife Jennifer, 7 month old Johnathan and 9-year-old son James II.
