Lost In NashVegas (2006)
Last week, I stocked groceries in Freedom, Alabama. This week, I live in Nashville, Tennessee, about to take the stage at the famous Bluebird Cafe.

Sounds fantastic, doesn't it? Only one problem, I 've got stage fright.

But after years of being ruled by fear and hiding from my dream, I confronted my limited reality and left home. Forget the hometown hunk who wants to make me queen of his doublewide. Forget Momma's doubt-inspiring tirade. I can make it in Music City...can't I?

So I took a leap of faith, gathered my old guitar, my notebook full of songs, and packed up my '69 Chevy pickup. Look out NashVegas!

With the help of some new friends, especially handsome Lee Rivers, my dream is about to find the light of day. But as I face my first night at the Bluebird Cafe, I realize...I might just do what comes naturally. Look for the nearest exit, and run!

About Rachel Hauck
I am a fiction author and friend of the Bridegroom, Jesus. Not necessarily in that order, but I'm writing as it comes off my finger tips. I'm married to my best friend, Tony.

I love sports, laughing and hanging with friends. I love a really good prayer/worship meeting where the Presence is there and no one can deny it. I once saw a convicted murderer walk into a Fire Dweller prayer meeting and before our eyes, he melted into buttery peace.

I love my family. I love my country. I love my freedoms and am grateful to those who've fought and died to keep us free.

I love a good book. Hopefully, I'm writing a few.

I love Nashville and Manhattan. I love Broadway.

I was born in Columbus, Ohio. but have lived in Lexington, Kentucky, Tulsa, Oklahoma and Homestead/Tallahassee/Palm Bay Florida.

After I graduated from Ohio State (Go Buckeyes!) I traveled for four years training newspaper people who to use Harris computers. Fun times. Nothing ike the new system crashing right before deadline and we'd already been working eighteen hours straight.

I traveled from Maine to California for this fab job, Canada to Mexico. Venezuela, Spain, Ireland and Australia. I've been to Guatemala and Israel.

But there's no place like home. No place like the south!

My hobbies are writing and writing. I lead worship and prayer at my church and for Fire Dweller. Check out the Fire Dweller's MySpace.

I love lots of things - Jesus first, and my husband. My Mom and siblings and all the family components that go with... I love animals. Sports and exercise.

I'm a member of FA. Yes. . . French Fries Anonymous" My name is Rachel Hauck, and I love French fries."

Grace and Peace.

Hi Rachel, Thanks for the friend request. I saw you at ACFW, but I don't think we had a chance to talk. Your worship was awesome and brought me into the presence of God, which is my favorite place to be.
God Bless,

Hi Rachel,

I loved your article on the Christian Fiction Online magazine. Especially appreciated you sharing your prayer. "God, if I'm in you, and my characters are in me, then what do you want to say through them?"

Thank you.
