About Melony Brown
I'm finally feeling a little more comfortable in the shoes God put me in five years ago. You see, prior to this sudden move to writing for Him I was a special education teacher. I loved being in the classroom with my kids with Learning Disabilities, my kids with Behavior Disorders, and even my kids with ADD and ADHD. Additionally, I thoroughly enjoyed leading/mentoring the special education teachers at my school. I never dreamed I'd being doing anything other than being a teacher. It was more than a job; it was who I was. I felt really comfortable in those shoes.

Then five years ago, God lead me towards a DETOUR sign. After much prayer and conversations with trusted friends and family, I followed the path God was leading me down. He was forcing me to use the other side of my brain - dark and cob-web ridden as it was. I felt comfortable playing with numbers and expaining how they worked together. I could do it in my sleep. Putting words together and making them "dance" was scary at first. That's probably why God transitioned me into writing by allowing me to publish a teacher resource book (Solving Word Problems for Life, grades 3-5) first!

After five years of learning a completely different trade and writing and revising and receiving rejection letters and revising, I feel a little more comfortable living in this side of my brain. I love that God has challenged me in this way because I've seen His love, His care, His provision, and His grace through very different eyes.

Everyone sees God in unique ways and I want to share the unique way that God has shown Himself to me with Christ-followers. My writing is focused on the connection between Scripture and road signs. Yes . . . I said road signs. Amazingly, there are more than 200 references to road signs/ journey/ road blocks in Scripture. There is much we can learn about how we live on our journey through this life in God's Word!

Join me on the journey! Melony
