Rejoice Evermore




Where is joy unspeakable and full of glory?
Where is the rejoicing in that old, old story?
How it must grieve God's Spirit today
To see his children so far astray -
Looking to circumstances rather than Him;
Striving and fighting at every whim...
Hearts filled with hatred, judgment and sin,
Not willing to bow for cleansing within.
Repentance is needed where there's doom and gloom.
For such in God's kingdom, there just isn't room.
Christ came to give abundant life -
Giving joy and peace in place of strife.
He fights the battle for us as we walk and pray,
Giving the victory day by day.
Oh, glory to God, praise His holy name,
Our gracious God is ever the same -
Ready to forgive, to cleanse and make whole,
Bringing lost sinners into his fold.
So, why should we fret or fear things to come,
Or be heavy ladened and weary as some?
Let us come unto Christ and He'll give us rest,
Richly blessing us with His very best.
Lord, deliver us from oppression I pray,
And may we follow only Thee each day.
Lead us in the paths that we should take,
That we might truly serve thee for Thy name's sake;
And may we obey this clear command
Given in scripture by Thine own hand:
"If there be any virtue, if there be any praise,
Think on these things" and "Rejoice Evermore".



"For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name."

2. What color are your socks? Barefoot - hot pink toenails!
3. What are you listening to right now? The space heater in my office. (I know, I know, it's summer, but the central AC makes my office too cold.
4. What was the last thing that you ate? Chocolate no-bake cookie
5. Can you drive a stick shift? Yes. Learned in high school
6. If you were a crayon, what color would you be? "cornflower blue" - thanks to Annie. (ha!)
7. Last person you spoke to on the phone? One of my daughters?
8. Do you like the person who sent this to you? I LOVE HER!!!!!!
9. How old are you today? 59 -- YOW!!!!!!!!!
10. Favorite drink? CHOCOLATE SHAKES - but I rarely get one!
11. What is your favorite sport to watch? None
12. Have you ever dyed your hair? Yes
13. Pets? Dakota and Mocha, my lovable collie and fat cat
14. Favorite food? McDonald's cheeseburger and fries
15. Last movie you watched? Some action flick with Harrison Ford, you know the one...
16. Favorite Day of the year? CHRISTMAS
17. What do you do to vent anger? I RARELY get angry. I guess I pray and ask God to help me get to the bottom of my anger--and then deal with it.
18. What was your favorite toy as a child? Baby dolls. I played with dolls till I was 13! I loved playing Mommy.
19. What is your favorite, fall or spring? Spring
20. Hugs or kisses? Depends on who they're from. Love both from my fam.
21. Cherry or Blueberry? I LOVE fresh cherries! Hmm-hmm
22. Do you want your friends to email you back? Yes or blog or comment!!!
23. Who is most likely to respond? Hmmm, no idea...
26. When was the last time you cried? Three days ago when I first laid eyes on Alexis Joy, my precious new granddaughter!
28. Who is the friend you have had the longest that you are sending this to? I don't know who I'm going to send it to yet, aside from Annie.
29. Who is the friend you have had the shortest that you are sending this to? (?)
30. Favorite smell? Apple pie, fresh out of the oven
31. What inspires you? Wonderful, God-honoring music
32. What are you afraid of? MICE! OH, LORD, HELP ME IF I SEE ONE! I am traumatized by the sight of them. (Don't send me any pictures, please. I will freak!)
33. Plain, cheese or spicy hamburgers? CHEESEburgers!!!!!

Hi Lyn! Philippians 4:13 --- I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. The road to success is not straight. There is a curve called Failure, a loop called Confusion, speed bumps called Friends, red lights called Enemies, caution lights called Family. You will have flats called Jobs. But, if you have a spare called Determination, an engine called Perseverance, insurance called Faith, a driver called Jesus, you will make it to a place called Success.
