The greatest influence in my life has been Jesus Christ, and I am thankful to Him for saving my soul. I am especially thankful that he brought me through a particularly painful childhood, gave me a survivor's will, and later gave me the will & courage to write and publish a book to help others. I spent 35 years (off and on)writing it, due to the fact the abuse left me in a very co-dependent state. I always thought I had to "fix" everyone, so consequently I did not make wise relationship choices, and went from one relationship to another. When I finally was healed enough to think better of myself, I made a wise choice this time, and married a man who did NOT have to be fixed. He has encouraged me to finish the book, for my own healing, and to help others heal. So he has also been a great influence on my life. I am so thankful to God for bringing us together.

One might think that my book is similar to others, because there are other books out there about sexual child abuse. However, when I first started writing it in my early 20s, there were not many Christian books about it; especially those that testified to the fact that it was Jesus who got them through their experience. My book is a living testimony to God's protection, guidance & healing touch. It has been referred to as "a road map to reclaiming your life and living that life to the fullest"....VICTORIOUSLY...PTL! Therefore, I recommend the reading of this book to anyone who has suffered sexual child abuse, or any other kind of abuse, and to all of you out there who know someone who was or is a victim. Don't waste a minute longer feeling sorry for yourself or dwelling on the negative influences on your life! Ask yourself, "Just how long am I going to let this THING cripple me and rob me of what God wants for my life?" Then make a conscious decision to put it behind you and move on...You CAN do it!
To read the whole story, or to order the book for someone you know, go to
www.authorhouse.com and look it up under author name or title. When the book comes up, double click on it to read reviews and order. It may just change your life or the life of someone close to you. This book is also available at www.barnesandnoble.com, www.amazon.com, and www.bordersbooks.com I'm happy to say that my book is also available now as an E book; I just found it on my new Kindle Fire.

April Is National Child Abuse Prevention MonthAnytime is a Great time to learn about this horrific epidemic that is affecting ALL of our society.
and what YOU can do to help prevent it.
Read this moving story (noted in Published Works at the bottom of this page) of courage and survival that gives hope to the millions of victims in this country and abroad.
Please read my blog RE: APRIL IS NATIONAL CHILD ABUSE PREVENTION MONTH
General Interests: I have so many it's hard to know where to start.
Overall I would say that I am an outdoorsy type who loves to walk in the woods,
camp,
swim,
boat,
ride ATVs,
and generally enjoy God's creation.
this beautiful earth.
I enjoy spending time with my family,
although most of my kids & grandkids live so far away I can't see them as often as I'd like.
I also love to create things by sewing,
writing,
crocheting afgans for my grandkids; love to see things take shape.
I love spending time with my wonderful husband who I met 9 years ago in our sunset years; we have been married 7 wonderful years.
We have enjoyed traveling together and have seen most of the US and Canada,
Alaska,
and took cruises to Mexico and the Caribbean with our friends.
This year after a week with family in California,
we flew to Cabo San Lucas,
Mexico
and spent a week there.
Life is an adventure & God has been good to us.

I love my Bible,
of course,
and after that,
my book because it has been so much of my life.
After working on it for over 35 years (off and on.
some of us are slower than others) I finally got my life's work published on October 5th,
2005.
It is entitled,
"Father,
Forgive My Father" and is the story of living with sexual child abuse for 15 years,
surviving,
healing; then living out the rest of my life with victory.
Praise Our Wonderful Lord! If you or someone you know or love has suffered like I did,
PLEASE get them the help they need.
this book tells you how to heal,
and to LIVE life more abundantly,
the way God intended.
Other books I enjoy are stories about people or places.
When I was a child I think I read every biography and autobiography in the school libraries.
I am currently reading "The Shack" and finding it very interesting.
I have also been reading self-help Christian books lately in hopes of mending my relationship with my daughter.
It seems that no matter how hard we try,
it is very hard to be the "perfect parent",
and later in our children's lives,
issues come back to take us down.
These books can often lend a whole new perspective on what you thought you knew and understood.
I'm trying to be more open to what my children experienced and how they feel & react to it in their adult lives.

Sleepless In Seattle,
While You Were Sleeping,
As Good As It Gets,

March of the Penguins (we got to take my Granddaughter to that one,
Far & Away,
& lots of others.
We don't go to the movies but about once every year or so,
but enjoy movies at home on tv.
Programs on tv are the sitcoms like: Two & A Half Men,
Friends,
Grey's Anatomy,
The Doctors,
The Bachelor,
The Mentalist,
and others like Survivor & Home Makeover shows.

Father, Forgive My Father (2005)
Christian Self Help Book to help victims of sexual child abuse recover and reclaim their lives. Only through forgiveness and God's healing touch can this be done. This book was written over a period of 35 years, but was born in the author's heart and mind at age 12 when God gave her the title and a poem entitled "Father, Forgive My Father". Finally at age 62 she completed what she feels is her greatest life's work, aside from her two children she brought into the world. Her hope is that it will reach many victims with the message that God can heal you and turn your scars into stars. This informative book not only tells the author's poignant story, but is a road map to recovery and living a healed, victorious life. Forgiveness is the KEY; the only people who are truly free are the ones who walk in a spirit of continual forgiveness. Jesus even said, "If you won't forgive your fellow man, I will not forgive you." So read and learn how this author was able to forgive, and consequently let God free her from a bondage that is worse than death...unforgiveness & bitterness. Please pass this word on to your friends & family; they might know of someone, too, who needs God's healing touch. To read current reviews on this book, go on line to www.authorhouse.com. This book is also available at www.barnesandnoble.com and www.amazon.com. It is helping people worldwide to heal their wounds, and I give thanks & praise to God for this miracle.

My Guestbook
I'm a retired lady who is happily married to my wonderful husband, Forrest. We have been married for 11 years now, and share a wonderfully active life together. Between the two of us we have 4 kids, 14 grandchildren (our 22 yr. old grandson went to be with the Lord a few years ago), 6 great grandsons, 3 great granddaughters and a new Great Grandson, Cody, due this month of April. Most of our kids live too far away for our liking...but such is life! Well...we tried the "horsey" scene again, and realized that we are getting too old for situations where you have to control 2 brains at the same time. So, after my accident on my horse summer before last & getting a bad concussion, we sold both of our mares to really wonderful homes. They are both a lot happier with the people they were meant to be with. Zanzibar is gaming with her new owner, and Tessa just finished her 55 mile endurance ride with energy to spare. We miss them terribly, but our prayers were answered. So, now we are going to join friends who have ATVs; then we can go on ATV camping trips. We have always had older ATVs at our ranch, so we're used to riding them...and there is only one brain to control. So we recycled our entertainment fund and got 2 new Honda Rancher 420 ATVs, sold the horse trailer and remodeled an old flat bed trailer that just holds our ATVs and bicycles. We downsized from our 5th wheel to a camper to put on the truck, and now we're ready to go. Our first trip was down in central Oregon camping with our friends at Morrow County ORV Park. I really surprised myself, and everyone else, by conquering The China Wall; it was only determination and the fear of going backwards that got me to the top. I really prefer nice smooth logging roads, but it was challenging. Then we went riding with the same friends down in the Mojave Desert, and had lots of fun exploring. I even got to ride with all the ladies in their retirement park...they call themselves "The Broads on Quads"...one day we covered 60 miles! It was great fun. I always wondered, though, why I had to have the horse accident, and inevitably, had to give up riding horses and find new homes for our girls. It was all very depressing & my husband and I both had a very hard summer. Then I started getting symptoms: headaches and the room spinning around, and to make a long story short...thought I'd better get my head examined (my brother says I've needed that for a long time...Ha). MRI showed a meningioma brain tumor, and they caught it when it was very small. I have a wonderful neurosurgeon who is monitoring it first every 6 months, and now, because it has not grown, only once a year. But, I really believe the accident was so that I would discover this and be able to keep a close eye on it so something can be done in time. I just had my year's exam, and it has not changed in size. Praise God for his messages to us. I keep busy with my writing and, following the publishing of my first book in 2005 (read my blog about that), I am writing articles now for magazines...more horse articles for older retired people to learn from our experiences, and articles to Christian magazines to promote my book. My 1st article, entitled "A Tale of Retirement...Enhanced By the Internet", was published in our PERS of Alaska Newsbreak. I also enjoy making crocheted afghans for my grandchildren, and have finished my 12th one and working on another. Hopefully, my fingers hold out long enough to get them all made. I'm in the process of learning that even if loved ones disappoint you, life is good, and God has provided. Several years ago he provided a pretty little black Tuxedo kitty who ended up having kittens in a lair at our ranch. So we went through a very patient taming process and ended up bringing them all home from the ranch for the winter. What a wonderful diversion & delight they have been. We found a home for 2 of the kitties to stay together, and kept Mama Mitsy & her little boy "Owey"; at a year old now he's bigger than she is (topping the scale at 23 lbs.). Talk about FAT cats!! Then later on we managed to find the Daddy cat, Tommy; neutered him and tamed him, and he also came home with us. Watch for more pictures when I post "Kitty Family" pics. Hope you all are enjoying ShoutLife as much as I am. Just wanted to remind you all that I'm still working on getting my book out there where it can do some good. On October 5th of 2012 I celebrated 7 years of circulation, and now it has gone "international", reaching all corners of the globe....Praise God! It is entitled, "Father, Forgive My Father", and is the story of and the testimony of God's healing power in my life. It was published and is being circulated by Author House, Inc., and can be found on the following websites: My own at: www.fffpublishinghelps.com, and other web sites at www.authorhouse.com, www.barnesandnoble.com, www.amazon.com, and www.bordersbooks.com. During the 35+ years it took for me to write the book (some of us are just slow) I wrote it with the idea that if it helped just one person, it would be worth all the trials, pain and suffering from the ravages of 15 years of sexual abuse. However, I am encouraged to hear that it is helping many people already, and the reviews are calling it "a roadmap to recovery and living a victorious life". People say they relate to it on many levels; and one lady told me "It changed my life, and I was able to forgive my mother after many years of us not even speaking." Some are even saying "It saved my life"...Praise God! Please help me get it out there so it can continue to reach and help the many, many hurting victims and others who need God's healing touch on one level or another. I will appreciate your help and consider you a partner with me in the work I know God has destined for me. God Bless.

As a child, in my house, April meant Spring cleaning, and no one cleaned more thoroughly than my mom. She had my brother and I take furniture out of each room, so she could get to the nooks and crannies of every corner in the house, and then she'd have me use my baseball bat to beat the dust and sand from the rugs she meticulously stretched over the clotheslines. Spring cleaning was a ritualistic event, and there was one thing I could count on after a week of cleaning every room in the house, and that was that the house was as clean as it could possibly be. We'd repeat this event in the Fall, and right before Christmas.
Well, it is Spring, and this month's Trail Mix is a thorough prayer of cleansing that ALL of us need to do from time-to-time, or, in my case, time-to-time often means several times a day or week, especially when I am given over to the flesh within me. Anyway's, I couldn't think of a better prayer in the entire Bible to clean us from head to toe and from everything in-between, then Psalm 51. The remorseful Psalm of King David when he finally realized his sin with Bathsheba was totally not what God would have ordered for him.
I can only challenge each of you to prayerfully read this Psalm, and where its words are applicable, to ask the Holy Spirit to apply the cleansing to your heart and soul in order to present you before God, completely repentant and remorseful for the things in your live that have been committed by way of commission or commission, or both, so that you can stand before God righteous and ready to be used in a way the glorifies the Father with all aspects of your life.
Let's pray: "Have mercy upon me, O God, according to Your steadfast love; according to the multitude of Your tender mercy and loving-kindness blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly [and repeatedly] from my iniquity and guilt and cleanse me and make me wholly pure from my sin! For I am conscious of my transgressions and I acknowledge them; my sin is ever before me.
Against You, You only, have I sinned and done that which is evil in Your sight, so that You are justified in Your sentence and faultless in Your judgment. Behold, I was brought forth in [a state of] iniquity; my mother was sinful who conceived me [and I too am sinful]. Behold, You desire truth in the inner being; make me therefore to know wisdom in my inmost heart.
Purify me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me, and I shall [in reality] be whiter than snow.
Make me to hear joy and gladness and be satisfied; let the bones which You have broken rejoice.
Hide Your face from my sins and blot out all my guilt and iniquities.
Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right, persevering, and steadfast spirit within me.
Cast me not away from Your presence and take not Your Holy Spirit from me.
Restore to me the joy of Your salvation and uphold me with a willing spirit.
Then will I teach transgressors Your ways, and sinners shall be converted and return to You.
Deliver me from blood guiltiness and death, O God, the God of my salvation, and my tongue shall sing aloud of Your righteousness (Your rightness and Your justice).
Open my lips, and my mouth shall show forth Your praise.
For You delight not in sacrifice, or else would I give it; You find no pleasure in burnt offering. My sacrifice [the sacrifice acceptable] to God is a broken spirit; a broken and a contrite heart [broken down with sorrow for sin and humbly and thoroughly penitent], such, O God, You will not despise. Do good in Your good pleasure to Zion; rebuild the walls of Jerusalem.
Then will You delight in the sacrifices of righteousness, justice, and right, with burnt offering and whole burnt offering; then bullocks will be offered upon Your altar."
Remember, the Path is Narrow, and Jesus told us it would have its difficulties. In 1 John 1:5-10, This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light and in him there is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with him while we are walking in darkness, we lie and do not do what is true; but if we walk in the light as he himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he who is faithful and just will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us."
Spring cleaning is necessary for all of us who travel across the Narrow Path; so allow the light of the Holy Ghost to enlighten you as He searches those nooks and crannies of your heart, spirit, language, thoughts and walk [life]. If it is true that confession is good for the soul, this month's Trail Mix should put some "pep back into your step!" as it reconnects you to the Father.
Shalom,
Pastor Paul

This months trail mix for your journey on the Narrow Path is titled "The Pain behind my Smile...is still comforted by His hand in mine" was prayerfully and meticulously prepared His help, for you....Enjoy!
The smile on my face doesn't mean my life is perfect! It does mean that I do appreciate what I have and what Jehovah Jireh has blessed me with! (author unknown) Selah~Shalom!
I can testify that this is a fact. My life has been QUITE far from perfect; however, through His eyes and love, I appreciate the good as well as the bad moments in my life; the valleys as well as the mountaintop experiences; the joyful expressions of "Hallelujah's" intermixed with "God, where are you, I'm hurting, and only you can relieve the pain?"
It goes without saying that the path I walk has had its difficulties and moments of complete and utter despair, but also there have been those times where I was led to drink from the springs and rivers so timely placed to refresh, revive and lift me up!
There have been moments of complete respite in your arms; and because of this peace and comfort, I can most assuredly say, "I would have it no other way."
This is exactly where I want to be, in both the good and bad times, because I know that it is my Savior and Shepherd who holds me by my hands through it all!
I have no doubt, whatsoever, that Romans 8:28 (We know that in everything God works for good with those who love him, who are called according to his purpose - RSV) is meant for each of us as we traverse the Narrow, yet difficult Path through life that leads to heaven...Shalom!
Now, always be hopeful....and go, and sin no more!
Pastor Paul
