About KIROS
In every graffitied and flyer-clad music venue across North America, Alberta's Kiros have been flexing their electrifying talents in front of hundreds of loyal fans. Since their debut in 2002 they've played alongside such bands as The All American Rejects, Relient K and, navigated their way across provincial and state lines during several elaborate tours, and independently released three savvy albums that have gathered the accolades of fans and industry professionals alike - including Torque Record's Kevin Gales. In August 2007 and just one day prior to the release of their dynamic full-length album, A Single Strand, Gales invited Kiros onto the predominately hardcore/metal roster and to everyone's surprise, Kiros obliged and swiftly began laying a foundation to catapult record sales off of - 21, 000 to be exact.

2008 began with a lineup change, ushering a new era for Kiros with the addition of Neil Klammer on guitar and harmonies. "Neil was the missing link that Kiros needed to reach our potential. He brings solid harmonies, he knows how to light up the stage, and he brings a whole new dimension to our song writing." says Mackichan. The instant chemistry threw open the floodgates for Kiros most successful year to date.

It's the band's collective rockability that has ushered them onto the stage for multiple years of the Vans Warped Tour and other major festivals on both sides of the border. It's their powerful hope filled dichotomy that won them the 2008 Gospel Music Association's award for 'Rock Song of the Year.' With songs charting on Rock, College and CCM radio stations on both sides of the border, there seems to be no place Kiros' music can't win over fans. Their live show, tour history and rapidly growing fan base earned them a spot on industry heavyweight "Outerloop Management's" exceptional roster. And now, armed with their latest triple-threat E.P. produced by Paul Leavitt (All Time Low, Circa Survive, Senses Fail) in Baltimore, the band whose name eludes to 'a moment of divine time' is quite possibly about to face their own as the songs continue to pique industry interest.

"Leavitt is a great producer, helping us to really capture the sound we were aiming for. The music and melodies in our new songs are written to accurately capture the lyrics and express the emotions contained within them. I believe they demonstrate a new dynamic range in our sound," says Mackichan. "Hurricane is especially transient of that. It's about becoming involved with someone who has a destructive personality, and the after-math and heartbreak that occurs as a result. I think it's a song everyone can relate to in some context, and it's beautiful to know that when a storm destroys, it really presents a new opportunity to build something new on a better foundation."

With 2009 already off to a giant start seeing Kiros opening up for Blessed by a Broken Heart and Love Hate Hero on the 45 date USA and Canada Terminatour things will only be getting better. 2009 promises to reward Kiros for their inspirational messages, perseverance and insatiable taste for life on the road, the band won't exactly ignore their collective true calling, either.

"Basically, music? We love it. It's what makes each one of our hearts beat. But beyond that, it's using this for a purpose, for something beyond music. We want to make a difference with our music."
